Ok, my Washington, DC OS friends - I've been looking, but so far haven't seen any posts about a D.C. meetup - or even a Maryland, Virginia, Beltway one.
So, I thought I'd throw it out there & see if anyone is interested. I'm thinking Thursday???, Happy Hour-ish, although I can't (and suspect others might not be able to) get anywhere before about 5:30 or 6:00 p.m. Somewhere close to a Metro station would be great (unless, of course, we wish to reprise the Flying Fish in Old Town, but that would require Liz's participation - just because!) but again, whatever works for the most people!
LATEST UPDATE: We're still working out details. This is the DC Group, you know! Where's Rahm when you need him?
mad_typist has been kind enough to ride lead on our coordination - per comment below,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/novaOS/
[mad_typist] set up a Yahoo Group so that it would be easier to coordinate this meet up (as well as future meetups). There's a thread there for people to suggest possible meeting places. On Monday I'll take all the contenders and throw up a poll so we can all vote on where we want to meet.
UPDATE: NEW DATE - THURSDAY, APRIL 23
Since it's such short short notice, mad_typist suggested we move it back a week. I concur. Hopefully more of you will be able to come; we're still working out a venue.
It's been awhile since I've worked downtown and even longer since I hung out on the Hill, so I'm taking suggestions. Some places that come to mind from a brief Google search of Happy Hours include:
Bullfeathers or The Flying Scotsman or The Hawk & Dove on Capitol Hill
Fox & Hounds or Odeon Cafe or Andalu on Dupont Circle
La Tasca or Matchbox near Verizon/Chinatown
I'm totally flexible - if anyone wants to journey further up to Bethesda or Rockville, I can throw out suggestions there, too!
Anybody?

However, I am willing to brave the trip on the Metro into the city if people want a Happy Hour in the district. Marvin's at the U street metro stop has the most AMAZING mussels and a fun little happy hour as well. I highly recommend Marvin's. http://www.marvindc.com/
I'll be working until 7:30 on Thursday so the happy hour has to go to at least 8 or I can't make it.
Sorry can't make it!

Will check out the Yahoo Group and update the post.
