The GOP is the party that can't think in a straight line for very long. They'll come up with a rationale for anything--invading Iraq, privatizing Social Security, whatever--but at some point a circuit breaker will flip and they'll begin snarling about traitors and girly men and guns. So the experience argument against what's her name will not matter with the core GOP constituency, since all she has to do is hurl molotov cocktails about the "Democrat" Party's baby-killing, gay-marrying, terrorist-loving, tax-raising ways to wow the base. If the rest of us notice the obvious cynicism of McCain's choice of running mate (reminiscent of nothing so much as Caligula's famously equine choice of consul), that's our problem, not that of RealAmericans(TM) who vote the right way--the Rove way.
