I am told "thank you for your service" all the time here in San Antonio and even something that simple is more than I ever expected. It renews my pride as a veteran. Make a veteran's day and say thank you. (Not to me - but to someone you know in real life)

Not many people serve these days. It is a shame. Honor the troops, they deserve it.

Thanks for the reminder.

The sight of the flag-draped casket is so hard to see, knowing it contains the body of someone who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. There is a debt of gratitude that is so deep, it leaves me speechless and sad.
That any veteran should have to beg on the streets in this country is terrible. Shame on the government that allows this to happen to its servicemembers.
Thank you to all veterans.
Service runs in my family and in many ways the Navy was inevitable for me. But I wouldn't have done it different.
Despite what some say about the military in these difficult times, I still recommend it to all young men and women who ask.
Joe -- I appreciate your service as well. Nothing better than a savvy petty officer with their shit together to keep a butter bar out of trouble.
Yesterday, our Iraqi war vet did a beautiful presentation on his tour of duty in order to help us understand a little bit of what our service men and women endure for our sake. It had many people in tears.
So, I thank you, LT, and you, Joe Blow, and our other veterans and their families.
I've also called my Vietnam vet dad, and we called the Peanut's Papaw who served in both WWII and the Korean War.
(I saw your comment and I appreciate it)
They all deserve our fervant support and grattitude!
We put the flag up together this morning but I forget to tell him "thank you.''
I shall do it soon as I get off here.
My husband is my hero as he almost lost his life when he was on a remote tour to Korea in '83.
But he lived and came back to me.
And, he has been blessing my life ever since!
(he was in the Air Force for 15 years.)
Today, on Veteran's Day, I give thanks to him and all the other veterans...true heroes!
Thank you, LT, for your service!

I didn't serve, LT, but my father did (Radioman First Class in the Navy) and many of my friends have served. I tell them what I tell you now, I am always proud of our soldiers and appreciate their sacrifice on my behalf.
Thanks for making sure our troops are remembered on Veteran's Day.
