Lunchlady 2
Birthday

Bio
I have been here, oh my, 2 or 3 years and in that time I have seen my youngest daughter wed and have my first beautiful granddaughter. I have seen a son join the Navy and fly away and I have buried my oldest son. This makes two sons I have lost and right now the world seems unfair and harsh but someday I will smile again and remember the good times more than the bad. Did I mention the alcoholic husband who has been in the hospital three times near death...it makes me wonder much about why some live, yet don't, and some die who are just starting to live. Out of 6 children I still have 4 and they are the light of my life....

Lunchlady Sings

Rate: 53 Flag

This is truly a leap of faith. I have done this slow, fast, twangy, not twangy and well crap here I am slightly nervous, slightly embarrassed, slightly thrilled.

I have deleted about 5 versions and I am just going to stop that right now.

My first trip into You Tube land...be kind I hear every mistake as would you, right?

I am going to try yet another, later in the week, or my life, or after I'm dead, dead and gone...

So I'm done rambling may I present to you

Lunchlady sings to her cat Little Man who could really care less...

I can't believe I'm doing this...I am posting and walking away for a bit as not to delete it right away!

Aww - that's really cool! You sound wonderful . . . and I hope the Lord does buy you a Mercedes Benz, or perhaps a winning lottery ticket.
Snaps! It's great. Do.Not.Delete! It's the Beatles Helter Skelter, right?

Just kidding! It's a leap of faith to put yourself "out there" like this. I've done it before and found it liberating... cough.

Good job!
So totally cool to hear your voice, shapes you further in my mind. thanks for sharing! Great post.
you did it! i love the whole thing, but especially your laugh at the end, charming and sweet. that silly cat could care less, but I LIKE IT.
Very nice. :)) Very nice indeed :))
You are one brave soul.. You have a great voice.

Rated with hugs
Cool....and very brave!
Yea!!!!!! It's so cool to hear your voice. And you did that so well.
Thanks for giving us that. (do not delete)
Your voice has a wonderful tone! GOOD for you for being brave. I know it is hard to put yourself out there but it is awesome! Do me a favor and keep in for your future great grandchildren to see! I'm serious.
What's the problem? You sound great! Actually, I like your version better than Janis's (I know, I'm attacking a sacred cow, but that's what I do best). Your voice has strong Southern gospel thing going. R
Sing it, LL! Love your bravery. Way to go, kiddo. Sing it all away...
Yaaaaaaaaaaaa! Go, Lunchlady2! A capella, too. I love it.

Lezlie
So peeking back in and it's okay. WHY is it so very hard to do this. Why when I know inside I can sing but that damn recorder comes on I freeze up.
Well hell, thank you all my friends, Trig I about spit my gum out "Helter Skelter" toooo funny!
Tone I hope I have good tone. I will try to sing one with music, but when you don't play an instrument anymore ( and couldn't blow a sax and sing anyway) it gets harder to find something to sing.
For now I will leave it up. Maybe I'll write something else really fast so it "disappears" :)
love this song, love you, love this.
That was great, I wouldn't have been able to sing that song. Your cat scrunches up tight like mine when I'm "unnecessary" too.
Can't do it tonite, but first thing tomorrow morning - as soon as the cats are fed or they'll hear your song and swarm me like flies on a meadow muffin. But I'll say this in advance: you are one brave lunchlady!
Yayayay for Lunch Lady!!!! Love it! xoxoxox
Mimetalker, :)

Trudge, you are too kind. I did think I used a bit tooo much sounthern twang but that was just how it came out. Maybe all those summers spent in Texas!
Dr Spudman, that means a lot! I do freely admit this was brave of me cause I was scared, been trying to do this for a full month!
Lezlie, thank you so much
l'Heure bleue , yep he wasn't really interested at all!
Matt, I'll be patient, I have waited this long...
I think I hear Janis herself clapping from the grave. This is great. You have a great voice to go along with a great heart. I can't wait for the next one!
Oh this is wonderful! Four Paws for LunchChick! :) You are adorable!

-R-
Little Man looks very used to being serenaded to. Spoiled little cuss!
He may not be impressed, but I sure am! Janis Joplin would be proud, and I am THRILLED that you broke out and sang for us!! Now when I tell you that you 'rock' I will also mean that literally! You go, gal!!!!
Brava, Lady! You got pipes! Seriously, the girl can sing!
What Trudge said.
I loved this! And I love a good southern twang.
Rock on! You have a sweet clear voice. Apparently kitty was smoking a little something and nodded off. Just like old times.
I had to wait....but it was worth it, my friend!!!
Robin, thanks sweety really thank you!
Libmomrn, you are so kind, thanks
Scanner, big sigh, thank you...I am working on Sweet Nuthin's but we will see!
Lady, adorable makes me smile :)
Susan, yea Little Man not so impressed but thanks much
Sparking, smiling, thank you
Sixtycandles, that was my "soft' voice!
Vanessa, NOW I'm glad that came through!
Greenheron, you know I wondered where my stash went :) thank you so much
Why is it that you sound exactly like I might have imagined? One of my favorite songs, and your voice is lovely. :)
This was exciting, lunchlady. It was real pleasure to hear you as it has been to read you. Very cool.
Haven't heard that song in a while- you do it beautifully
Wow! Congratulationson putting this out there. It was very entertaining! You sound great :-)
Yea! Bravery pays off! That was wonderful!
How cute are you, Lunchlady?!! (I always Love it when people can sing -- cuz I wouldn't be able to hit a note to save my life! Seriously!) Brava -- for the singing and for going ahead and putting it up here! Love, Julie
JD, thanks sorry I made you wait, nerves ya know :)
Sweetfeet, that was what made this so hard. What I hear and what I sound like taped were so different, it freaked me out!
Fernsy, thank you, exciting I LIKE that..
Token, it was the only one I could think of without the need for music..thank you
Kelly Lark, I like that too entertaining, thank you so much:)
Chistine, thank you bravery is very hard I say in my best two year old voice :)
Julie, thank you for being so sweet I like being cute too!!
Really, really nice. One of my favorite songs, and you did it so well.
LL2, this made me tear up, your voice has such an earnest, sweet, vulnerable quality...I love that you posted this
Lunchlady, that was wonderful. You have a great voice. I can just hear you singing a kid to sleep (and I bet you did). Great job. And yes, I can't think of anyone who deserves a Mercedes more than you.
Bravo! Wonderful singing and talking voice. That was pretty cool, Ll2. R
YAY!!!! It was wonderful to hear your voice! Obviously Little Man is so used to you singing so why not send some more our way! Lots of love to you.
Gives me the shivers!!! Incredible Lunchlady!!!
Oh MY GOODNESS! This is so wonderful! What a beautiful voice you have. What a cool cat you have. What a great video this is. What a lovely kp I'm giving you.
You did great lady. You've got more brass than I could hope for doing this too.

Loved, Loved, Loved the voice
LUNCHLADY!!! I'm so proud of you!!!!!!

This was wonderful!! Great range, notes on the money, and a capella, to boot!! Just beautiful!

Really, I am so glad you had the nerve to put this up - you done super-good, kiddo!
isn't it so great that our pets just don't give a damn? I dunno what's got into you girl but if it's making your wrist go numb, maybe you should take it easy for a little while (ha! this is...something!)
woo hoo! i loved it. hoping you get that benz and lots of other good things soon:)
Just a quick thank you to everyone. You made me smile with all your wonderful comments and your support! I NEEDED to smile and I thank you all!!!!!
It may take awhile but I will try again :)
your voice is really tone-y and full and *lovely*! plus you are so freaking brave to do this and post it for everyone to hear! YAY, LL2!! good on you, girl.
Femme forte, thank you so very much...I love hearing people liked my voice!
I just listened to it. Brava, Lady! You have a nice, strong, confident voice and a perfect sense of pitch - which is damned hard to get a cappella. And I've always loved this song. The laughter at the end is delightful. Brava!
Matt, I am so smiling :) see! Thank you so much for coming back to listen..
Amber, I am lucky in a sense as my husband has no idea how to work a computer. I make sure if I leave my room with the computer on I leave it on the home page.
If you ever need to talk Pm me, I think we may have a lot in common and I'm sorry for that.
To remind you of your grandma, well I thank you for that. Very sweet of you to say.
I couldn't see the cat (my monitor is dark) - but I can definitely imagine his expression. Cats do not make great audience members. I, however, loved it! You've got a nice tone to your voice, and I know it takes courage to let loose in front of people. Well done!
Bellwether, it was a black cat in a dark room so yea real hard to see. Thank you so much though for your kind words!
Fantastic! Wonderful! Beautiful!

ENCORE!!
Smithery, but did you like it :) Thanks !!!!
I'm working on it...
Oh Lord, buy me a Lunchlady. I love it. It takes courage to let it all hang out and you have the perffffeeeeccccctttttt voice for a ppppeeeeerrrrrffffffect song. Keep it up, you're good!
I enjoyed this. I haven't sung since 5th grade when my teacher told me just to mouth the words because my voice was ruining the sound of the whole class.
you're braver than me, doll!

I've always loved that song, notwithstanding the Janis factor, it's a true American standard - or sounds like one anyhow. Like somethin from the Appalachians, with a mandolin and some hand-clapping in the background.

Thanks for the acapella memory.
Yay! Of course, I'd have to find you singing, after your comment. Gorgeous and pitch-perfect. Let's sing more.
How did I miss this?
Carry that tune woman. You've got good tone.
Beth, Yes I am trying I just have to trust and stop deleting the damn thing until it's perfect. BUT yes we, because you are spectacular, need to sing more. I live to sing!
Scarlett, Stellaa, and everyone I missed thank you all too!!!! I love everyone of you for the support you have given me to get this far!
I missed this, yes, LL2, I like the twang, and the giggle at the end, priceless. nice.
