A Head in a Lake

Rate: 5 Flag

Lake

Dawn peeking fades stars

At lake’s mid, gentle moves hand and foot

In still water treading soft

Buoy a head just, just

Above

Strange place to greet the day

Silent private cool

Far from shore

Head back, eyes

Above

A loss, and not the first

Sad, not bitter a parting

Virtues, flaws, flow and ebb

But here, tideless, just look

Above

Stay here awhile, just stay

Make faint ripples to bird song

Kick strong legs slow

Patient heart and eyes

Above

Could stay forever but don’t

Go back now, go

A cabin calls, hearth with fire

Time to dry, and keep thoughts

Above

But the coffee should be bitter and hot.
Add some Bailey's for fun. I enjoyed this. I liked the repeating ending word-Above. I was there on the trip. Good images. Guess it is the day for poetry.
I really like this peaceful poem, MTN, and the beautiful photo, too. Thanks for sharing!
I love this poem and the delightful images it creates.
My favorite lines: "Virtues, flaws, flow and ebb
But here, tideless, just look
Above
So perfect.
