Now, don’t look
Don’t see at all
Don’t hear glass shatter
Don’t feel gray dust
Don’t smell the awful
Don’t taste harsh grit
Just don’t look
Don’t see things fall
Don’t hear the voices
Don’t feel sweat trickle
Don’t smell rank fear
Don’t taste the acrid
Please don’t look
Don’t see the posters
Don’t hear the thunder
Don’t feel the wounds
Don’t smell the candles
Don’t taste the people
Now, don’t look
Don’t see the void
Don’t hear rage call
Don’t feel hands absent
Don’t smell the burning
Don’t taste revenge
Now, just be
Just close your eyes
Just hear my heart
Just feel my face
Just smell my skin
Just taste my kiss
Just be, with me, together.

"Just taste me...." My tummy tingled with those words.
