McGill University researchers have developed a blood test for Alzheimer's disease. The researchers at the university's Health Centre say the test could soon be on the market. The study's senior author, Dr. Vassilios Papadopoulos, said, "Our clinical study shows that a noninvasive blood test . . . may be successfully used to diagnose Alzheimer's at an early stage and differentiate it from other types of dementia." The study was published in the May 2011 issue of the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease.
