RITA HAYWORTH Video

As a big Saturday afternoon Movie-Go-er in my teens, catching every Flick from Hopalong Cassidy to ZaSu Pitts; it wasn't unusual for me to come home from a Musical & dance around the room with a song still in my head.
So Fast Forward to a week after I saw the 1953 Movie "Miss Sadie Thompson" - where I danced & lip-synced to a 78 rpm Record of this song for a fun Birthday Party for a friend.
Unlike Rita; there was not one male in my audience!
This Birthday Party was the first time I had an audience - and it was for laughs; because I was far from sexy. Let's say, I vamped it; till I ran out of vamps!
I don't remember if my dance was before or after the Cake - either way; as you can see - we were high on Pepsi!
Growing up without money; we Street Urchins had to be creative; making something from nothing. And if I'm gonna dance this erotic dance - I knew I had to have the right oomph!
Because I sewed; I had been given a yard of silver-white Spandex Bathing Suit material from an Uncle who owned a Knitting Factory.
Looking at this piece laying there like it was an Alien Albatross; I swathed myself in it & fashioned a Hollywood Costume held together by pins. Later on in life; that same fabric became a pink Playboy Bunny Outfit for a Masquerade Party!
That rich Uncle? I never told him what I did with it! Little did he know I was using it for nefarious purposes - as I had been given other woolen pieces that I obediently made into school clothes which he approved.
Between then & now; I've had many "Dances" with questionable history on the Fabric Content & he's nowhere to be seen! And so far, thank G-d - nothing has struck me dead!
Hey!
P.S. Fred Astaire's favorite dancing partner - Rita Hayworth; sorry to say, had "a Double" to sing for her. Well, that makes 2 of us!

Her rendition of Blue Pacific Blues wasn't bad, either.
I think Hayworth had a couple of singing doubles throughout her career. India Adams was one; I can't recall the name of the other.
