Modest Proposal for Reducing New Spam Accounts
This is how my local restaurant forum handles it - they cut off new account creation.
When you click Register, all you get is a message saying that account creation has been disabled.
To get an account, you have to send email to the administrator telling him what name you want… Read full post »

What happened to rjheart?
She made a post at the end of last week, now OS says there's no such user.
Review: Cave of Forgotten Dreams - Updated
If you are a science geek interested in anthropology and paleontology, you have to see this movie.
The Cave of Chauvet in southern France, was discovered in 1994, having been sealed by a landslide tens of thousands of years ago. Inside there are cave drawings and skeletal remains of ice age… Read full post »

Making Yogurt
Making your own yogurt is easy and the results are more than
worth the effort.
Ingredients
- 1/2 gallon of fresh milk - the better the milk, the better the yogurt - whole, 2%, or skim will all make yogurt, but whole makes the best - a small amount of … Read full post »

I'm going to have dinner tomorow night with friends. We're making an effort to get together once a month just to spend some time together in the kitchen and around the table. The way it's shaping up, the host(s) prepare the main course, and anything else they choose. The… Read full post »

I feel bad having to ask - I should remember. But, for some reason it struck me tonight that I really miss reading his posts and for the life of me I can't remeber when he posted last. Read full post »
Breaking in my new pressure cooker
I picked up a new pressure cooker at Penny's today. The old one works fine, but it's not quite big enough for a pot of ham and bean soup.
Unlike Mothership's post a while back, I don't have a recipe just a method.
First I heated some grapeseed oil in the pot… Read full post »
Missing OSers
Does anyone know what happened to the miscreant and Hope - the hopeful starving student?
We've had some nice clear evenings this week, so I thought I'd drag out the camera and take avantage of the evening light.

Foodie Tuesday - Irons (waffle)
