So our youthful icons of the disco era, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson, have passed away.
But other pleasures from that simpler time are staging a comeback.
Oh, if only I worked for NYT Styles section, I could totally make this a trend piece.
As Mister Universe declared, you can't stop the signal.
Years ago, you could make a movie or a music video and uh-oh, maybe nobody would ever get to see it. Maybe it'd be banned by the BBC or threatened with copyright lawsuit.
Well, we mock such conventions now, don't we?

Earlier this week, Ayelet Waldman did too. Responding to a review of her new book, Bad Mother, in The New Yorker, Waldman told the world "May Jill Lepore rot in hell. That is all."

It's Philadelphia. 1984.

It was 1983 and it was New Jersey. You do the math.
And note the REBEL in the lower right corner with the Princess Di. (yeah, that's me.)
It was 1979. I was thirteen.
And if you're wondering if I was a virgin for a very long time, the answer is yes.
Actually not a euphemism.
