Okay, I have to admit I don't know that for sure, this is just a theory. I had signed up weeks ago to be on a list to get into Invesco Field to hear Obama's acceptance speech. I was told by people very involved in the Democratic party in Boulder that there was no way in hell, or heaven, that I was going to get a ticket to be one of the common folks going to this historic event.
I wrote a blog two days ago on Open Salon about my skepticism that I would actually get a ticket to this event. I was supposed to volunteer 4 shifts at the local Obama headquarters before I would even be considered. There were glitches galore and my HOPE was fading quickly.
Then, about 10 minutes ago, I received an e-mail from the Colorado Election Chair telling me that I was receiving a Community Credential and congratulations--I'm going to the speech!
Maybe someone in power noticed my blog on Salon...maybe it was because I just read The Secret for the tenth time (more popular than The Bible in these parts) .
I will be blogging on this whole process for those who are interested...and no, I can't be bought.
Details are going to follow about where and how I actually get this ticket in hand. I'm not sure what Community Credential means, but I'm suddenly feeling very important and powerful.
Politics are corrupting me already.

I'm suddenly feeling a rush of post-traumatic Catholic guilt. Seriously.
Don't get me wrong. I'm as big a small peon as the next guy. But like you, I've been a diligent supporter of Obama's for months.
Unlike you, I did sign up to volunteer. When I showed up to the office, they were in a state of disarray. I just recently got a list of calls to make, and I will make those calls.
But, still, I'm feeling very fortunate and not so great about how many locals are going to be shut out by this event, including you.
However, if my Salon theory is correct, you may soon get an e-mail congratulating you as well. I will put out positive intentions!
But before that, what process is involved for me to get the now promised by an e-mail Community Credential and what exactly is a Community Credential...more to follow...
