OPEN SALON WHOOP-DEE-DOO WITH JOAN WALSH

Rate: 30 Flag

OPEN SALON AUGUST  2ND WHOOP-DEE-DOO IN BOULDER, COLORADO WITH SPECIAL GUEST:  JOAN WALSH, THE QUEEN OF SALON:

For those of you who are partying it up in Vegas, I don’t want to hear about it.  Leave it in Vegas where it belongs.

drunk OSer

But if you need a small vacation after your vacation, this might just be for you.

For the rest of us unfortunates who don’t have the time, cash or nerve to have it stay in Vegas, COME TO BOULDER.  No sillies!  Not Boulder, Montana, BOULDER, COLORADO…home to the beautiful Flatirons, Mork and Mindy, CU Buffs and me (don’t even bring up Jon Benet, and no, I don’t think the parents did it).

Flatirons

So here’s the scoop:

SUNDAY, AUGUST 2ND:

1:00 PM------the cows come home

tree house for adults

Mingle with fellow OS’ers and wile the day away.  There will be:

--Hanging out in the tree house

--Jumping on the trampoline

--Swinging over the little creek

--Crazy hat croquet

--Volleyball

--Music

--Barbeque

--Hot tub

rock garden

Play the day away with those you’ve never met, but feel you know.

The infamous JD will be escorting Joan.  Pretend farmer already has plane reservations and will be staying in our little guest cottage.  Lonnie Lazar and Sandra Miller are trying to make it work.  Robin Sneed has it engraved on her calendar, and Sheldon the Wonderhorse is working on fitting it into his busy schedule (eating hay is very time consuming!).  I’m hoping as many as the Boulder/Denver OS locals will be here with bells on their toes (you know who you are!).

If anyone wants to come and needs accommodations, PM me and I can give you some recommendations.

RSVP if you think you are coming and look forward to meeting and seeing you all in August!

YAY! Party!!! Looks like a great time :)
I'd love to go back to Boulder and have the opportunity to make some new memories there. Hmmm, time to see what I can do...
I hope to make it. My schedule is very up in the air for the summer, but if I'm in CO that week, I'll be there.

Thanks for hosting. Sounds great.
sounds like a good time will be had by all.
wish i could be there. i can't get enough of crazy hat croquet.
Can't believe I'm saying this, but -- sorry to say, I'll be in Paris.
You will all have a ball, I'm sure. What fun! Someday, hope to meet many more OSers. So far, it's been wonderful meeting the few I have.
What fun!!! I love Boulder, and was planning to make a trip sometime this summer so I'd love to be at your party, too! I'll have to check my farm's schedule to see if they'll let me go.
mary - Sounds like this will be the best party in Boulder, not counting the Naked Pumpkin Run! Not only do you have the OS 'Editor-in-Chief' attending; you are making sure that attendees will be hanging, jumping and swinging the day away. Sounds like fun!

I'll let you know...
Boulder is on my bucket list. As a traveler (RN), I've been working on an assignment there, but it's so well loved, they don't need imports! What a wonderful time must work, you'll have if people will come - since you are building it! I work weekends, alas. Can't wait for photos and videos. I enjoyed these too - especially the dead cowboy surrounded by his many dead beer bottles.
I'll be there in spirit.
Unfortunately -- or should I say fortunately -- I have gigs lined up in Michigan in August, so I will be unavailable. But here's hoping you have a great time and a great turnout!
I'm hoping to never leave once I get there. It's keeping me trucking through July.

Do you have an extra bicycle? I want to peddle around while I am there. I can't wait!
As you know, I am still here; and it sure was nice to meet you and Nick and hang out. So good to meet an OS'er in real space... As things stand, I'm as fluid as ever, and who knows? Mebbe I"ll join you.

The treehouse is awesome, everyone. Mary's farmhouse reminds me of more of New England than Boulder, and she and Nice are top shelf, and lovely hosts. Thank you, Mary!!! :)
Sorry I don't live over there... you are going to have a OSpectacular time, especially, I assume, in the Hot Tub. I sense the kindling for a great post-party blog...
Damn, I wish I could make it. Maybe.
Aww, there's no way I could take a Monday off in August, it's just too busy a time of year.
I'm sure gonna' try!
Oh -my sister and brother both live in Ft. Collins., I could say I was visiting family. It would be so much fun. I don't think I can ditch my kids at camp because my husband has almost no free time but I will keep it in mind, you never know!
Isn't Sunday the 2nd?
Sweetie - your date is wrong! Sunday is August 2nd!!! Not 3rd!!!
I'm pretty sure you meant the 2nd! Otherwise, many OS'ers will be thinking it's a 2 day "WhoopdydoodleeyDO!!"

Whaaaa!!! I wanna be there!!!
I'll be there! I'll bring my camera! (bwahahhahahahhahaha!)

Should I bring chocolate bacon cupcakes?
Lauren and Cathy: Whatever are you talking about. I'm reading this and it clearly says the 2nd! You two need to get your vision checked :)

wskrz: YES, bring the bacon cupcakes! Then maybe BBE will come!

Everyone else who is a "maybe"...go for it! Life is short...
My computer must be messing with my mind because I could almost swear it said the 3rd. I need a day off, hey, that's tomorrow!!! Hooray for three day weekends!
You people scare me. You meet up all over the country like eBay power sellers. Do you all have a theme song? I'm tone deaf.
hey there, mare...is this a potluck? of cawwws, i'm in.
ah, I haven't been to Colorado since the last Xmas I spent with my ex-inlaws. Hearing that Robin Sneed is going though...I might have to crawl over broken glass to get there.

have fun...no sucking up to Joan.
sorry can't make it Mary...though I sure wish I could. I'll be down near our property near Ouray in October...I'll give you a holler about that in an email.

Have a blast!
I'll be there...of course! What a wonderful time to look forward to1 And JK...no...I'm easy, darlin'...no crawling over broken stuff....
I'm REALLY going to try to come and see you and that tree house. Please don't make me sleep in it, though. I'm scared of critters. Sounds like a blast.
You know I'll do my best to drive those long long 9 miles to Boulder!
Hmmm ... just, hmmmm.
Damn. We’d been planning on making that weekend the middle point of our family’s summer holiday – and Boulder was shaping up to be the general destination. (For that time of year, high up in the mountains sounds good weather-wise, just like I’m used to up in the Grand Tetons, Wyoming area in Julyish) But my wife’s Berkeley reunion just got moved to August 1st, and now there’s no way around relocating the summer trip to NoCal! (Well…all I can say is, they better have a zip line too!)
Tim4change: Bring the wife...I should have said that in the main post but I'll be posting again. No excuses for you! You're in.

Gwool: Hmmmm.
David! I got all excited thinking you, your wife and 2 darling boys would be coming (even had that little car all charged up for them!)! Well, you know you have an open invitation...you are a very good friend. BTW, for anyone else reading this, I got to have a long coffee with David in Venice when I was out for American Idol with the wonderful and amazing m.a.h. David is a wonderful human being!
Is it OK if I come, even though I'm not a real OS-er yet (more of a lurker and occasional timid commenter)? Bob's playing at a bluegrass festival in Nebraska that weekend, so I'll be at loose ends. (Trust me: if you're in the hot flash phase of your life, sitting in a park in Nebraska on an August afternoon is the last place in the world you want to be!)

Let me know what I can bring.
montanarose: DUH! Of course you are coming. You're read my posts and commented...that makes you a true OS trooper! I'm so excited you will be able to come and we'll talk before about what you can bring. (Had a busy day but loved your email about Mark Sanford...agree...agree...agree!!! Diana Ross...I'd be catching the next flight out of the country!). Pretty big no brainer: Nebraska or Boulder? Nebraska or Boulder? Good choice!
OMG really? There is no way I want to do Vegas in July but a Colorado escape from Florida in August might just be my ticket! Woo-hoo, I'll let you know!
It sounds delightful! The spirit is willing, but I'm not sure the project manager will feel the same.
I like the beer bottle accident victim outline!
Oh OH! Believe me, if hubby could get off work to babysit the kids I would be there in a heartbeat - but sadly, I don't think there is much chance of THAT happening...
Mary, that sounds so great and you even have J.D. attending! The setting is beautiful and I wish you all a fun time together.
Damn, another great party missed! I'll still be catching up on several months of boinking (besides with just myself), but it sounds like a grand time. Haven't been on a trampoline in years! I'd love that! Have a bouncy trouncy Tigger time!
oooh! fun!!!! i *think* that i and my man can make it (you met him at the anniversary shindig). when in the last day that i can RSVP?

this sounds like such fun!!!
OK, I should be there, possibly with a guest or two. Did you PM the address?
