::shudder:: the botox freaks me out--They have these pictures of Nicole Kidman without botox during her pregancy, and she looks SO much better without it. Yet, as soon as the baby come out, she re-botoxed her face into complete immobility.

why did you use dupes of so many of the guy images? surely you didn't run out of unique images to make the point?

I suppose some women get plastic surgery for men. Others do it because they never learned that they are more than a sum of their external virtues, so they measure themselves by what they see in the mirror and find themselves lacking. And usually aren't any happier after the plastic surgery... To each their own. *shrugs*

Yah. One of my cousins had some "work" done to her face. Doesn't even look like her anymore. Certainly didn't make her any prettier. Made me sad.

Every one of those women that you mention has had some work done. The difference is that they (and their surgeon) understand the meaning of the word "subtle." And what hasn't been nipped, tucked or pulled back or up in someway has been air-brushed or loving shot by a kind camera person or director.

I think women get "work down"for their own benefit and reasons, that, IMHO, have little to do with impressing any man---facelifts, botox, fillers, lipo---that type of "work" is what I'm referring to.

Maybe the breast implants are for men (or a particular man) don't really know, can't speak to that issue at all.

But I think part of the problem is that women come to believe that the Sophia Lorens and the Catherine Deneuve types look that way "naturally." Then it becomes "why do I look so freaking old, " and then the processes start.

This stuff completely freaks me out. Eww. I don't think women do it for the men (except the boobs, sometimes)- it's more from cultural pressure and it seems that women give each other a harder time about appearance than men do. It's not okay for women to look older, yet men become sexier with age...according to somebody.
But, no less disturbing.
