Forgiving my lesbian loves

Rate: 23 Flag

They were so beautiful then -

Still are,

But I loved them differently back when.

One was sweet and jolly,

For this song I'll call her Holly;

The other, sweet and serious,

Her smile, tho, 'twas Mysterious.

~~~~~
They dated men, but never me;
I'd been divorced, was fairly free,
I like to think they somehow knew
I wanted them to ease the blue
And wasn't up for something new,
To commit to, yes, and to be true.
Better this than simply no,
I'm not your type, now turn and go.
~~~~~

But go I did, with wounded pride

And found another - surprise, a bride!

And friends we all four then became,

Old scores forgotten, too, the game.

~~~~~
Our friendship grew, and then one day
We gathered 'round to hear them say,
Holly, cherish you I will forever;
Mysterious, thank heaven, we're together.
Absolutely sweet as honey . . . and just as rich. Thank you, Matt!
I had to read this a few times. It's 648 am and I thought at first you were writing about a dream you had.
Oh slap me hard and awaken me.
Hmm.. you might have written a poem about that too.:)
But it was a great little poem that no one else could do but you.
But I expect nothing less than great from you.
Rated with hugs and kudos to gay love.
Oh, what a sucker I am for a good ole happy ending. Thanks for the smile , Matt!
A delightful read. You are the first to make me smile this morning. Thank you.
Happily ever after. A rare thing in these strange days. You deserve it Matt!
Great poem. Great post. Charming and sweet.
Yay, I feel like skipping now. Matt this made me feel happy. Thanks.
Matt - this is really, truly touching. Thanks for sharing this with us. You are truly an artist.
Matt, that is a sweet poem!
Forget-me-nots - what an appropriate choice of flower for your poem.
this does not surprise me...your whimsy, love and your facility as a poet. thank you for the big smile on my face right now.
What a whimsical way to put these sentiments together. Lovely.
Great work, Matt! Simply lovely. I'm beaming, ear to ear. Call it a Ferris Bueller type of grin.
I didn't know you were a poet Matt, and a good one at that. Very cool!
SWEET.........so good, thanks.
This is just too sweet, Matt, love the rhythm and rhyme. R
Matt, you devil, you. Who knew you had this softer, gentler side?
I loved a lesbian once, deeply I'm afraid. She broke my heart in to a million pieces, but healed it the day she became my hero when taking her oath of enlistment.
Biizzaarree
loved it, makes me wish I could wax poetic
For a frog (?) , your poetry is as impressive as any man has ever written. You're always a delight.
My dear friends, I have been remiss. Between blackouts due to the storm over our area that messes up our satellite server reception, I've been busy trying to read, comment and rate all of YOUR wonderful posts, and have not stopped by to thank you all for you kind and generous comments.
Those of you who compliment my pathetic poetry efforts are either lying outright, for which I thank you, or are automatic winners of lifetime membership in my Friends Forever Club.
Y0u are the bees' knees, you are the moon's green cheese, you make me sneeze whilst trying to please, you are the breeze in the trees, my main collective squeeze...made my point? I got lucky. Lucky to have you as friends.
And I cheated. I not only loved the two lesbians to whom I've dedicated this little verse, but I empathize with them completely because...I can't contain this secret any longer...just can't: You see, I, too, am a lesbian. The only difference between me and those dear ladies is that I am trapped in a man's body. Forgive me. Old joke, but it's late, I'm punchy and the server's probly about to go out at any second. Love you all - one way or another.
sweet ending, Matt. I love your poem about forgiveness. It's always bitter sweet when someone you love makes a vow to spend his or her life with someone else -- even when you are already committed, I think... just a little bitter sweet. The forget-me-not tone of this poem captures this feeling so well. Bravo! xox
Thanks, PJ, for the kind and understanding words and for suggesting this Open Call, too.
"I, too, am a lesbian"
Really?
Okay, all you have to do to prove it is take that thing you want to stick in her, throw it in the drawer of your night table, SLAM the drawer shut so it stays in there and walk out of the room (after swinging by the bathroom to douche and install a Tampax).
How do you know I don't, Amy?
Oh sigh... why can't we all be friends and live happily ever after..
