Hey, hey, hey! Do you likes crossword puzzles?
I am SO like Blink when it comes to crossword puzzles. Same with Trivial Pursuit. Ugh. Speaking of trivia, I've got TWO trivia contests for this strip:
1) This is an easy one-- the first person who can correctly tell me what the headline "38 Across" is in reference to will receive a complimentary BLINK Strips: Volume 1 (Woo!). This book collects the first year of Blink comic strips (from 2008) that originally ran in my local arts newspaper, The Short North Gazette (and where they still appear every month).
2) This trivia tidbit is a hard one- the first person who can correctly tell me what bands (there are two) and what songs (there are four) are referenced in this strip will receive a complimentary copy of the the comic book this strip originally appeared in back in 2005.

(I'm providing the above excerpt in the hopes that if/when this strip gets an Editor's Pick, they can use it for the front page.)
Remember, I have an ever-replenishing supply of free Blink mini-comics, so contact me through Open Salon or you can email me directly (mail.max.ink[at]gmail.com) about getting one signed, sealed and delivered to your home (or PO Box).
**Postscript** I'll be on vacation until next Wednesday (goin' to NYC!), so please be patient when waiting for a reply from me.

Hope you're having fun in NYC. Shoulda told me. U could have met my daughter.
Fay, if you click on each page, it should take you to my Flickr site (http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxink/) where you can see the pages closer-up. I know it can be frustrating not being able to see this stuff as clear as possible (like when it's in PRINT) and I'm sorry about that, but what can I do?
...As for the framing of the Blink comic, I hope you can easily take it out of its frame for reading. ;)

The two bands referenced here: Katrina and the Waves ("Walkin' On Sunshine") and Yes ("Time and a Word.") You could also add Nirvana to the list with your insertion of "nevermind" in one of the frames.
The four songs: the aforementioned "Walkin' On Sunshine" and "Time and a Word"; also "Hold On, I'm Coming" by Sam and Dave, and "Ain't Gonna Stop" by James Otto.
Do I win?
Can't even think of the trivia answers. My brain is mush from writing. grrrr
@jfernrn- Glad you get it. All the better.
@ Jonathon Wolfman- LOL
@umpirepb- Since you were the first Open Salon member to answer the first trivia question correctly, send me a private message with your mailing address and I'll send you the BLINK STRIPS comic book. As for the second answer; sorry... close, but no cigar. (It's TOUGH!!) You got the first two right (The Waves' tune & Yes' tune), but the other two aren't the one's I was talkin' about. I've gotten some other (incorrect) responses from other people, too. So that part of the contest is still open.
@Tricia- MoCCA was awesome. I see you're a "Geek" living down in the South; there are a few shows in your neck of the woods. Maybe you can come see me this June at HEROES CON in Charlotte, NC?
***REMEMBER EVERYONE***
Send me a message with your mailing address and I'll send you a FREE BLINK mini comic!
