Bio
"Her beauty served a mob of terror whose one mission is to destroy." Yeah, that's me alright. I am a writer, actor, activist. That means I've worked in the hospitality and retail industries. Before you ask for fries with that, prepare yourself for political, economic, social, and sexual liberation. Not a total commie. I just marvel at the inflammatory red-baiting language--so much like queer-baiting, it's scaaary. I will be your downfall yet, America. Until then, I go for universal healthcare and making friends with anarchists, hippies, fellow-travelers, philosophers, actors, and other troublemakers. And, of course, da queers. So I'm pinko. Does that make me more Canadian than anything else? How queer are they in Canukistan? And can they put me up for the night--you know, just in case? In other words, just your typical OS blogger.

Vanessa Carlton, Another Bisexual Who Gives a Damn

Rate: 2 Flag

Just in time for Pride Month, singer Vanessa Carlton came out in front of 18,000 people assembled to celebrate LGBTQ Pride in Nashville.

"I've never said this before," said the 29 year-old singer, "but I'm a proud bisexual woman."

Thanks, Vanessa.  Your voice counts in the growing surge for queer visibility.

Let's see--that makes Duncan James, Miko, Fergie, Anna Paquin and Vanessa.  Keep the coming out coming, celebrity bis!

Interesting. I happen to love her music: check this out, my second post on OS: http://open.salon.com/blog/luminousmuse/2010/05/10/three_graces_part_3_of_3
Max! Did you see that Megan Fox is engaged again. To the guy! Guess she found out women weren't much cleaner.
@LuminousMuse--I checked out your post. Very nice. I hope Vanessa has a nice long run as a songstress, too.
@Billy Glad--I'm not following Megan's career these days. It's bad for my health. And besides, I have much more interesting and proud bis to watch out for, like MIKA, Anna, James, and now Vanessa.
@Owl--she's a cutie. I'm so glad she came out at Nashville Pride instead of in Rolling Stone or Details magazine. She fills my yen for community-based bi love.
