As a follow-on to yesterday's post, FoxNews is reporting that Republican Dede Scozzafava, who recently suspended her Congressional campaign in New York's 23rd district, is endorsing the Democrat, Bill Owens.
This makes it clear that Doug Hoffman was right to run on the Conservative Party ticket and force Scozzafava out of the race. She and the Democrat were effectively running the same campaign. The voters were not being given a choice.
However, what makes this sad is that the day before Scozzafava had said, "I am and have always been a proud Republican." Well, not anymore.
Given that Scozzafava was handed the nomination in a safe Republican district (there was no primary), her endorsement of her opponent shows contempt for the Republican voters in the district that she originally wanted to represent... and sour grapes from a candidate who didn't give the voters a reason to support her.

And, in terms of the voters previously endorsing here, I'm not sure what you are referring to. There was not a primary. She was given the nomination by local party bosses. If there had been a primary and she won it, then Republicans should have backed her.
Susanne, I recognize there are so-called moderates in both parties. In this situation, one might ask how much value there is in having two people run against each other who basically believe the same things. Apparently, the voters who are being polled didn't like it much since the third party candidate now has a chance to win.
At least her campaign manager wants to stay in the GOP... he endorsed Hoffman.
You're right on the money, McG. Rated.
You advice is worth... nothing. Liberal democrats telling us how to win seats in congress? I'm so sure you have the best interests of the GOP at heart. You could give a rats ass if we win, and we don't win by being DEMOCRAT-LIGHT. We win with conservative values and conservative candidates. Period.
