I'm nobody important and there's nothing uniquely interesting about me. My blog is intended as planting a free market, conservative flag on Salon Island. I want to be a bit provocative and will attempt to present a counter-counter-culture view. The blog name is based on the idea that the 1960's should not be viewed as only a time when the young pushed change against conservative norms. The 60's were as much represented by law and order shows such as Hawaii Five O. Conservative waves continued through the 80's and into this day. Salon tends to represent the desire to overcome the conservative waves. I will playfully join the debate here to see whether I hit the beach or hit the rocks.

Rick Perry's Muslim Base?

Rate: 2 Flag

It is sometimes amazing the stickers you can see on the back of cars.  In this case, a truck here in Houston had the following:

RickPerryBase

Yep, there is a "Secede" Texas flag sticker on the driver's side and a boy praying before a crescent on the passenger side.

Options?

  •  A Muslim supporter of Texas liberty... therefore a likely Rick Perry supporter... ergo, Perry's Muslim base of at least 1?
  • A marriage of a Texas militia-member and a Muslim American or immigrant?
  • A highly unuusal variation of an Umayyad Reconquista with Muslims seeking to create a caliphate in formerly Spanish Texas before retaking Spain?
  • And?
  • Bueller?

That is interesting.
How about a white supremacist being either with, or against, since it is on the other side, and therefore cleverly ambiguous, should I or shouldn't I?, an alliance of the white supremacists and Muslims against ... guess who.
It is unreadable in this photograph using my phone but the Muslim sticker has the boy praying, "Thanks to Allah." The text is is in bubble above the boy's head. I'm pretty sure this is intended as a devout message.

It would be interesting to meet the person. I suspect they are a second or third generation American who has grown up in Texas culture and is Texan through and through.
Maybe secede and establish a caliphate under Shariah law, with an exception for Lone Star Beer.
Definitely looks like a Perry supporter to me. The Texas dimwits who support him want secession until there are huge amounts of federal aid that the state needs. And they hate Muslims. The little boy praying to Allah threatens to bring sharia law to Texas. Oops! With Perry & Co. they already have sharia law, except it's Christian sharia law.
