- I'm nobody important and there's nothing uniquely interesting about me.
My blog is intended as planting a free market, conservative flag on Salon Island. I want to be a bit provocative and will attempt to present a counter-counter-culture view. The blog name is based on the idea that the 1960's should not be viewed as only a time when the young pushed change against conservative norms. The 60's were as much represented by law and order shows such as Hawaii Five O. Conservative waves continued through the 80's and into this day. Salon tends to represent the desire to overcome the conservative waves. I will playfully join the debate here to see whether I hit the beach or hit the rocks.

Another day, another blatant example of political hyopcrisy. We have been hearing from environmentalists and liberals for years that we need renewable energy such as solar and wind.

As described in the New York Times, Senator Dianne Feinstein is opposing the building of 13 solar and wind powe… Read full post »
I work in downtown Houston so I took off a little early and walked over to the Tea Party at Jones Plaza. I could only stay an hour because I had a dinner engagement but the time I was there was entertaining.

I just finished watching 60 Minutes with its profile and interview of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke. He confirmed what we all knew: the Fed is printing money to provide capital to at risk financial institutions.

As previously written (Part 1), I came through Hurricane Ike safe but now was without power or water. As we were supposed to do, I had 3 to 4 days worth of supplies. These fish caught up in the storm surge were not so lucky:
I started writing my version of Hurricane Ike on Friday morning, September 12 as Ike was closing in on the Texas coast (see post). Today’s post will cover a few points before Friday and then focus on the night of the storm.
Part 1…Dr. Neil Frank or: How I Learned/… Read full post »
I have intended all my posts to be impersonal but this new addiction to OS must be fed so I am bending my privacy rule to explain that I will likely be off-line for a few days. Hurricane Ike is coming this way…only hours to go as I post this.… Read full post »
