Rhythm of Love

Rate: 10 Flag

 Holding You

a melody's surfing
in my head
but what key?
there are no lyrics
no fancy poetic twist
perhaps it's bullshit
I don't know
do you know
I'm crying
crazy tears
insecure tears
how could you
here this night
in shared bed
sweet dreams
in promises
painted
cherry red
midnight blue
melted yellow
faded
now gray
your head
on my chest
listening to my heart
keeping time
to this melody
surfing in my head

night and her
and blue Hawaii blues
I think I hear a ukelele playing "Rockin the Casbah."
R
long live the child and the man played on a jazz tone ukelele plugged into a coconut Mai tai
deeply evocative in its brevity
I love this. The idea of two people keeping up with each others melody. I have not found often people who I think understand mine or who I understand, but there are a few.
a brief melody can have spontaneous rhythm like a yo-yo string worn as a bracelet
Melody. Really nice poem.
night and her..
perfect.
This evolution I have witnessed over the last few years imbues your writing with such depth. The corners, the rhythms were always there, but there is a deeper note. Longing makes the together that much sweeter.
rita
thank you for the high compliment ... i'm forever grateful.
The magic of shared melody and rhythm. Doesn't get much better than that.
Great tribute to love Chuck.
Glad you found it. Hold on tight.
Beautiful! Reminded me of Hawaii 30 years ago.
The reader takes what's written and applies it to his own thoughts and feelings.

Longing, yes. I get that.
love the poem and your comment. lovely, lush.
melody in the head?
certainly could be assigned lyrics, but often they
condemn the music to background status.
Too many words, anyway, who needs more?
I suspect we need more melodies in the head,
others' heads on our chests,
keeping time
to heart and maybe, just maybe, feeling
this odd melody that came in the back door of the soul.
Formerly Mean Mr. Mustard.
I've been listening to Chants.
I was never aware how nice.
I'm reading about 1600's.
Try Chants to empty head.
Visit 'shrink' and just cry.
Share a glass of mustard.
Tell war psychiatrist woes.
Say You dreams of bikini.
Listen to katydids all night.
Try Gregorian Chants tho.
You no got to understand.
