Malcolm McLaren dies aged 64 - News, People - The Independent

Malcolm McLaren, the former manager of the Sex Pistols and impresario, has died. He was 64.
...

McLaren was best known as the manager of the iconic punk band The Sex Pistols. He achieved the notoriety that never left him when The Sex Pistols’ anti-establishment single God Save The Queen stole the number one spot during the Queen’s silver jubilee in 1977.

I think this means that I am now officially OLD.

Bow Wow Wow
Adam and the Ants
The Sex Pistols

Created them, and screwed them, and screwed them all over, rock'n'roll style.

His funeral will be an event.

RIP, you sonovabitch. What I wouldn't have given to have lived the life you did.

Meander, another well known talent disappears from the scene. Thanks for posting this!
Well, you already know how *I* feel about this one LOL
My pleasure - "Prince Charming" owned my world back in the day (two expressions that didnt exist in 78)

"Prince Charming, Prince Charming! Pretty cute is nothing to be scared of!"

Placebostudman - And I REALLY UNDERSTAND how you feel.

McLaren was an SOB on the Col Parker level, and yet we really need those guys.

But we can't ever love them for it.

Great Post Man! Ahhh...I remember it well, somewhere between the good old days and the good new days...when McLaren spoke--all trained ears listened & gave a shout. Rest in Peace Big Mac!

Thanks for this Meander!

Life Stinks - For quite a while there, McLaren was all about the future.
His own music stood up as well. His opera/electronic mixup of "Madame Butterfly "was just beautiful.
ChillerPop - that is so true, his "Madame Butterfly" was my first exposure to the music, and it blew me away.
64??? This was a fittingly irreverant obituary.
