Take Googling yourself up a notch. Google Alert yourself. It's nothing to be ashamed of, and you'll feel better afterward.
If you're a writer, you know how important exposure is. Are your SEO articles making it into Google Alerts at all? You might Google Alert keyword phrases related to the common topics on which you write, and your articles may (or may not) appear in those Google Alerts. If they do--great. If they don't, now you know, and can investigate why your SEO articles aren't making it into an important promotion stream based on your carefully-chosen keyword phrases.
If your articles fall under news, you can register your site as a news site to be included in Google News, which feeds in to Google Alerts.
If your site or articles aren't news, you can still be included in Google Alerts, but under "blogs." Some of my articles from Suite101, such as Chavez Sends Troops to Colombian Border, appear in Google Alerts (under the keyword "Venezuela" in this case) under "blogs" and not news. For whatever reason, Google categorized that article as a blog post. Any blogger can submit their blog for consideration.
I set up a Google Alert for "Melanie Zoltan" yesterday. Got my first Google Alert today and it was...for this blog. A listing of My Favorites, to be exact.
So go Google Alert yourself. It will reduce tension, increase your endorphins, and there's no mess to clean up.
