A woman trapped

in a dream

of mist

and rushing

water

Current so strong

it pulls her in under the

rushing waters

where all is

black

Struggle to surface

current so strong

black watery grave

lungs burning on

fire

She surfaces

in time to see

the drop, the rocks

she gasps, she

wakes

circleoflife

What a nightmare, I can feel her gasping for breath.
lovely poem
rated with love
I feel like that sometimes. Gasping. Waking is sometimes not possible. Quite a powerful poem!
Your poem and painting are beautiful. What an artist you sound like!
r
the painting is exquisite, as is the poem.
as must have been the nightmare.
they can be refined and elegant
as well, i have found, for they
paint a living world
mirroring the
neuronal storms that pass by............
The painting and poem go so absolutley beautiful together. "She gasps/she wakes" whew!
