Burden of Secrets

When the stone keeper is gone

the stones will

not get stored

this rough collection

will not sing again

their melody will

slip through the

grains of sand

along with the stone keeper’s name

days will turn to night

shooting stars will fall to earth

these meteors will cool

and resemble stones

the dust of time

will collect over them

for the stone keeper

is gone, the one that

knew how to wait

you have lost nothing

you know nothing

you wait in vain

the stone keeper is gone

I like your poetry... even when I'm too daft to grasp its meaning.
Lovely as usual, Mary; this reveals a side of you we hadn't seen before.
Beautiful Mary.
"the one that knew how to wait"
Loving this one. Fine poem.
There is such weight in those stones and in this solid, poignant and heartfelt poem.

Beautifully done.
So soulful. Love this, M!
