The sun scorching

light bright and direct

coming sharp through

the beveled glass

Casting hard shadows

in the shape of crosses

spreading across the wall

like spilled water

A figure stands outside

the spreading light

watching, seeing how far

it will reach

For a moment

the figure is caught

in the center

of the crosses

The figure is trapped

in a trace with snapshots

of church arches, vaults

columns, polished wood

The scorching sun forgotten

spilling light an afterthought

this view from the crosses

is chilling and lonely

Mmmmm... wonderful transition.
It's like a vault, your soul, full of memories and poetic references which we who gather near to experience, then may bask in.
I love this.

The view from the crosses is always chilling and lonely, isn't it? The sun returns, no longer scorching but casting gentle warmth. That's a place I might take this.
Thank you all for visiting, reading and being so kind with your comments.
