A journey to the new world

The placebo did its job.  Everyone was convinced that they were cured of the make-believe disease that was supposed to annihilate the human race.  The mastermind behind the farce was now a hero and anyone who had tried to expose the madman, his family and his followers were either dead or exiled to the farthest reaches of the earth.  Even the dark messiah was caught off guard.  One minute everything was under control and the vermin were being managed and the next thing we all knew was that there was a biological toxin in the atmosphere and if the country and the world didn’t’ subject themselves to an anti-toxin that we would all be dead and those that knew the whole thing was a conspiracy and would not take the anti-toxin were shipped to a prison farm where the rest of the world was told they died horrible deaths.

The problem is we weren’t sick and we didn’t die.

The internment camps were actually relatively comfortable.  None of us could quite figure out why we had been spared and sent to these camps instead of just being killed or exiled like the others.  I know one thing for sure.  We weren’t here to be heroes.  There was something dark and demonic brewing in The New United Republic.

The New United Republic waged a massive offensive all over the world, especially in the Middle East.  This time though there were no negotiations or helping hands.  The New United Republic without warning dropped Nukes wiping out Iraq, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Palestine, Israel, India and anything that was within a hundred mile radius of the entire area.  All that was left was to wait for the radiation to settle and send in the tankers to retrieve the oil.

The Chinese said they would wage war on The New United Republic and as quickly as one can blink an eye.  China, the Koreas and all surrounding areas were gone.  The Japanese and the rest of the world that was left bowed to the feet of The New United Republic and this was what the new world order government became known as.

It’s interesting how the greatest of generals.  Those individual’s that fight wars with efficiency and with no conscious are also the most deranged and stupid of all creatures.  The warnings of the devastation that would be heaped upon the earth because of the nuclear explosions was a farce to these men.  They didn’t believe it the same way they didn’t believe in Global Warming.  These madmen went to the polluted lands of the Middle East and pumped the tainted oil out of the ground and started hauling it back to the states where once it was distributed and washed the cretins were convinced that it would be fine.  The pollution that came from the burning of this oil didn’t’ take long to fill the air with a vile and terrible death.

The dust from the explosion started to settle and the sun was blotted out only ten percent but this was enough to change the weather into terrible floods, storms and blizzards.  Millions all over the world were dying terrible deaths.

The New United Republic believed that this was the work of the liberal thinkers, those who did not believe in their vengeful God so they began killing off anyone who disagreed with them.  We knew it was only a matter of time before they came for all of us at the camps.

Those at the highest ranks of The New United Republic knew that there was nothing going on with the liberal thinkers or a new radical ground.  They knew the truth but they would hide this truth at any cost including the destruction of the great minds and hearts of most of the nation that used to be called The United States of America.

We decided that we would not go down easy.  We began banding together and breaking out of the camps and gathering other camps together and were building numbers that were impressive but we really didn’t have any kind of weapons and we were also not the kind of people that were built to use weapons.

When the battle began it was a terrible and violent massacre.  We didn’t win hell we didn’t even get close to winning.  Only in the movies do the good guys win and this wasn’t the movies, this was real.  We were all murdered and killed, tortured and maimed, burnt alive, raped and ripped apart.  The ground of The New United Republic was drenched in our blood.  Millions upon millions were dead and eventually the only ones remaining were the believers in The New Republic.

The rest of the world tried to isolate from The New Republic and rebuild but most just died off from disease, famine, insanity and violence.

Those of us that were the radical liberals who survived were hiding in caves and living like animals always professing that we would rise again but we knew it was over.  The earth, no, the human race was dying.

Ironically The New United Republic didn’t have anyone to fight, destroy or poison anymore so they started fighting within their own ranks and before long they had successfully destroyed their entire organization leaving only a few hundred alive who all died horrible deaths just like the rest of the world.

The human race that remained were those of us hiding in pockets all over the world where the poison and radiation was not as bad and there was no risk of being destroyed when the warriors were still alive.  The higher levels had vegetation and water and we found ourselves being able to sustain life.

There came a new gift from the destruction and devastation of the earth.  Those of us that survived were now gifted with tremendous psychic powers and were able to speak not only to the animals but also plants and with each other all over the world.  There was a new matrix forming that linked everything living to one common good.

The new race would have no name for their efforts.  There would be no countries or states or government.  There would only be the connection of the spirit and mind and as each generation came and went we would make sure that the history of the old world was never forgotten and that the teaching of the new world would continue on until there would come a day when everyone and everything would be flourishing in a wave of love and peace, a world of prosperity without the destruction of the dwelling we call earth and there would be a universal love, a nirvana right here.

We had been drinking all night at Larry’s and saw Leslie earlier praying for a pack of cigarettes at the machine and the owner of the bar, Larry came over and got Leslie a pack of Camel and put her in a booth in the back and brought her  pitchers of beer.

Leslie at one point in her life had been a college graduate with a masters degree.  All we had ever known her as was a homeless crazy woman.

I had talked and drank with Leslie a few times but conversations with Leslie never lasted long before she would be babbling and screaming.

I finally got up pretty buzzed and walked back to where Leslie had laid her head on the table.  She had her hand resting on a bunch of papers where she had been writing.  I knew she was dead as soon as I walked up.  You can smell death and not the actual smell, it’s a deeper scent just like smelling crazy.

I pulled the paper from under Leslie’s hand and read the title to the story that she had been writing.

A Journey to the New World

Leslie was cremated by the state of Ohio and put in a zip lock bag and me and my brothers retrieved her ashes and took them out into Amish country and spread them over a beautiful field with a grove and creek running through it.

I kept the story and read it occasionally when I am sitting alone remembering those wilder times and I wonder, if Leslie ever found her nirvana here on this old earth.
