(And I feel fine…_)

     The Wiggly Brother’s Circus is in town tonight!  The clowns are running for president!

     The news is chocked full of unbelievable truckloads of garbage information to start this New Year off right!  It’s murder and mayhem and it’s all being committed by clowns.  I knew there was a reason why I hated clowns.  Funny my ass, the dude smells like whiskey and bad sex and he can’t keep his hands where they belong.  Hey! That’s my money in your hand there!

     Not in my fifty-six years on this planet have I seen our wonderful country as completely bonkers out of control full goose Looney as it is right now.  It’s like watching bad slapstick.  You know it’s hilarious but you also know that had to hurt like hell.

     Explain to me the kind of country that we have become that our choices for GOP candidates is Santorum, a psycho religious goofball, Ron Paul, who the hell knows what this little deranged man is or the Mormon businessman shyster.  Of course we could all stop being stupid and just re-elect President Barack Obama.

     And as the polls close in Iowa we realize that the GOP is just completely screwed.  Rick Santorum??  Good lord maybe Michelle Bachmann should stay in the race if Ricky can do that well and well it just helps President Obama’s chances even that much more.

     The whole radical movement toward idiot conservative, backward, blind, denial based logic in this country is frightening, it’s more than frightening, it’s horrifying.  We are looking the other way on science, technology, intelligence and common sense and decency, or, maybe that’s just what makes good news right now.

     Yea, yea I know, give me a break.  Good news left a long time ago.  So, maybe it’s what gets the bills paid right now, watching idiot, and ridiculous garbage on the news programs.  It just makes me feel like taking a shower every time I get done reading anything on the online news sites.  You know, I feel dirty.  Feel like a dirty little boy.  Come on clean me up!  Um, where was I?

     It’s difficult to write about what gets vomited across our screens every single minute of every single day without sounding just as deranged and demented as those writing this crap are.  It’s hard not to find ourselves just lost in the madness and just following the herd over the edge of the cliff.

     Here’s what I do kiddies.  I get up and I tell myself every single day.  “We suck as a species!  We will over the course of this day do a thousand things that are stupid and one thing that is brilliant and our shining moment will be missed by all.  My job today is to try and not suck as a species, as a human creature.  My job today is to love everybody no matter how big of an asshole he or she or it might be.  My job today is to remember that the most important part of this day is getting up and being alive and being a part of this infinite consciousness and maybe, just maybe someone else will feel the same way and we can start ourselves a movement, or something.” 

Then I turn on the computer and well, you know, it all just gets thrown to the wind but hey its fun isn’t it?  Isn’t it?  Tell me?  Is this fun?  Stop crying and tell me!

I remember in the great old days, you know the hippy stoned who cares days that there were really some pretty stupid things going on in this world.  It seemed like the continuous comic strip like it does now but something is different, there is still something more deviant about what is going on now.  I can’t quite put my finger on it.  It could be that our way of life or system of government and our care love and concern for each other is just in the toilet.  I can’t really decide.

The first president I remember was John Kennedy, well I remember him replacing Eisenhower and beating Nixon.  Of course I remember him being killed and now what we are finding out is that with all the things that made this man great, he was also a dangerous man to have as a president and in my opinion the beginning of a downward spiral of government that we have been on since.

I will give Lyndon Johnson a lot of credit for having enough sense to know that he could not be president for very long without doing something to damage our country completely and he didn’t run after replacing Kennedy.

Of course the next man in life was Dick Nixon.  Man oh man how the hell did this man get elected president and not just once but twice.  Richard Nixon was a psychotic, drunken and paranoid man that was running the country.

Gerald Ford came stumbling in next and he was actually a nice guy with some interesting level headed ideas but man after Nixon he really was just another Johnson and was treading water until we found ourselves with Jimmy Carter.

Now in my opinion Jimmy Carter was a great man in many ways.  He was and is a good man but he was not a good president.  He was trying desperately to take care of all the mess that we had made previously with war and economy and the countries attitude sucked, a lot like now, well not a lot like now.  We are on a one way ride to the pits of hell now, but there are some similarities.

Of course only in this country could a second rate actor become president for two terms with dementia.  Good old Ronnie Rayguns.  Regan decided that the rich were more important and to hell with the middle class and poor and he and his cronies put into place a whole bunch of things that made sure they stayed rich and got richer and the rest of us just got poorer.  Take a look around people.  You can thank Ronnie for a whole lot of this.

Daddy Bush was a useless president.  He was a wimpy guy and he couldn’t be trusted.  He took the Regan years and just rode them off into the sunset of four unbelievably stupid years.  The Daddy Bush era is where we lost our soul as America.  It was the beginning of the end.

In so many ways Slick Willy was such a wonderful breath of fresh air.  We all knew Bill loved women and he loved to party.  We knew Bill smoked weed and fooled around but Bill also was a decent president, he was actually a good president in many ways.

Bill Clinton had one flaw that I can see.  He couldn’t tell the truth and that destroyed not only him but also destroyed his wife’s chances of really making a difference in this country.  It’s an interesting irony to the whole story of America and politics.

We had Bill for eight years, well almost and then the eight years of complete idiocy came to the big house.  George of the Jungle Bush came riding into town and pretty much turned America into a clown rodeo.  The problem with George of the jungle and his gang of liars, thieves and murderers is that a whole lot of people got hurt, a whole lot of people died.

Here we are to today and President Barack Obama, our first black president who is a good man, a decent person.  He is a man that cares about the American people and he just can’t get anything done, well actually he has gotten a lot of things done but the republican, conservative, God freaking people of America want us to believe that he is a terrible president.  I’ve said it before.  President Barack Obama reminds me of Jimmy Carter.

What does all this mean?  It means that while we were electing idiots and assholes to the presidency we all became too busy to pay attention because of the mess these nitwits were making and we found ourselves where we are today.

See, you can’t let a politician do what he or she wants.  They will steal from you, lie to you and even kill you if you leave them to their own devices but, if you smack them upside the head and tell them what you want from them, and well pay them well, they will do what you want, well for the most part.  The Raygun years, Daddy Bush era and the George of the Jungle pool party pretty much threw out the old rules and well, we are all screwed!

So, I think it’s safe to say that I don’t know and it would be safe to say that no one knows what is about to happen.  When we are watching unfold in front of us the possibility of a Rick Santorum or Romney or even Ron Paul as president then the game has been rewritten and there are no rules.

The circus came to town and just decided to stick around.
