After surfing some of the more left-wing blogs (the ones that haven't declined into craven obscurity or continued cheerleading for right-wing Democrats), I happened upon a link to a blog entry by Kevin Gosztola. Although I still saw the usual round of unsupported criticism by Obama-bots, I also saw a great many comments from people who offered very good, insightful replies. So I decided to sign up.
I am a Progressive. I live in Ohio, am active politically at the local level, and am sick of watching as the Democratic Party becomes ever more the twin of the Republicans. Last year's elections were among the worst I've ever seen. The hatred and vitriol directed at any of us who dared voice our concern with Obama and the Democrats, and their increasingly rightward direction, was disgusting. As the last four months or so have shown, what passes for the remaining American Left is getting fed up — and for good reason.
As I get the hang of this web site, I'll post more about my beliefs as well as my ideas for how we can re-organize the Left. It's going to take a lot of hard work, time, and risks, but we must do it if our nation and the rest of the world are to survive. In the meantime, just a friendly "hello" to all of you.

Yep. Me, too.
I grew up as a military brat. What we have now is not what my so-called childhood was "sacrificed" for.
It was supposed to be all about the Greater Good. This is not that.
