My good friend, Janet, decided it was time to clean up her green house and asked me if I would be willing to paint a mural on the walls for her. Sounded like fun to me! Now, you must understand that Janet doesn't do anything without throwing her entire body and soul into the project. She has fabulous art hanging throughout her home and I was intimidated to say the least. I head over to her house so we can talk and I can get an idea of what it is she wants me to paint before I get started. She whips out a file she had been keeping with several Henri Rousseau pictures tucked inside. Now, I am REALLY intimidated! But, in Janet's generous way, she informed me that she would allow me complete artistic freedom! Thank goodness! I felt somewhat better! Over the past few months I have been quite busy. Take a peek at what has developed. In November, Robert Wittman, visited Janet's home for the World's Affair Council and toured her green house. The first words out of his mouth were, "Oh, Henri Rousseau." How elated was I?!?! But then I was quickly brought back down to earth when a neighbor of hers came over and I had to explain to him Janet really likes Rousseau. He then said, "Oh, Henri Rousseauish, heavy on the ISH." pfft!!! We are planning a "Greenhouse Coming Out" party for June... so clear your calendars!
