Come on in and make yourself comfy. Kick off your shoes. Coffee? Tea? Sit awhile and read… Express your thoughts. Any questions? Feel free to ask for I am a woman of a certain age and I do not fear my secrets. I welcome them for they have led me here, where I pour them out in written word. I'm also a Recovering Catholic, but I very much believe in a Higher Power. Those shoes you see in my banner, I own those shoes... Stuart Weitzman Fever in patent leather red! We used to get out alot more, me and my shoes. So I decided to add them to my blog because, hey, I'm not dead yet!! Backatcha, Nanatehay! Parrothead, you're on my dance card!!
Too tired to dance! I am supposed to be sawing logs now but all my faves here are posting till the wee hours in the morning...Love the music so much but haven't an ounce of energy left! My two grand kids sucked the last bit our of me hours ago! Bless the little darlin's!
These were before my time but luckily I discovered them later. Thanks for the reminder. Great tunes.
Ablonde, don't remind me!! My son and I would be cruisin' to preschool blasting Humble Pie....

ok, it's 1:30 AM where I am, so please excuse the misspelling Parrotdead!
why thank ya, ma'am, cappy's always up for some humble pie.
more saturday night music! these are all three tunes i know and love well but which i haven't heard for wa-a-ay too long. way to go MAWB!
iTunes is a wonderful thing!!!
Zumalicious, I had to add some James Brown for ya!
MAWB, you are too much!!!! What's a beautiful woman like you doing home on Saturday night? Especially with such hot music. In fifth grade our class took dance lessons as part of the curriculum with Mrs. Sanderson. All the boys would line up on one side, the girls on the other. The boys would walk across the room and say, "May I have this dance?" I've been dancing ever since. You really took me back with these videos. Now I'll be humming them for the rest of the night. Rated!
OMG, Ralph! You took me back to grade school! Did they make you do the box step and a little square dancing too?
I'm up also. I'll go with Etta James, Mountain, and Humble Pie. James Brown is too much for me at this hour. So I can either write something or crank it up and dance. Decisions?
No, Mr. Mustard! You need to add some music to your blog!
No slackin' in the music department... after all... you are the pro!
MAWB
Another ghost story? Or perhaps a blog about a sexual predator who was retarded and really screwed by the mental health system? H'mm. just turned on iTunes... Atlanta Rhythm Section: "I'm So Into You" is playing. : )
Yikes!! No sexual predators!! I just finished reading HeartSick by Chelsea Cain today.... way to gruesome!!! Music!!
I'm always ready to get on the "Goodfoot"
Wow, you really went digging in the classics! Some of my favorites here... and Etta??? You go girl!
Baby, baby, baby...baby, baby, baby....
MAWB, you are my kinda woman blogging. I'll share in Zuma's Etta James Brown if that's OK with her.
Loved them all but alas,"I can't dance, don't ask me to." Really, it's just not a pretty sight but when nobody is around....well, then that's another matter. Rock on!
So sorry you couldn't sleep, but ahh, what a gift to find this on a Sunday morning. Great with coffee.
Middleagedwomanblogging, I would appreciate your opinion since you are an experienced and prolific blogger....and a great writer. You were so kind to look at my post early this morning (apparently, we were both up late) and leave a comment, but you were the only one. I was actually experimenting with a pictorial post seeing what kind of feedback I would receive. Needless to say, my experiment failed. No one seems to be interested. And yet, you post a pictorial post about the same time and wham! You get results! What is the secret and what did I do wrong? Thanks for your input and advice on this.
Great variety of music for any night!
RATED!
ahhh man! I missed it! Me allergies knocked me out before 11 pm. I woke up and it was time to be a good girl for Sunday!

I'll add this treasure to the links. Thanks for the Etta and James!
As far as the age thing goes? The very first cassette I bought for my brand new cassette player was Mountain's "Nanatucket Sleigh Ride". Sigh. I am old.
Ah, Bluesurly, but young at heart!! Mountain was the first band I ever went to see in concert back in 1969!!
I KNOW, I KNOW, I KNOW that I am NOT alone in experiencing some great sounds which I didn't remember hearing becaause I was soooooooo stoned.
There are STILL some things which are new to me because of that.

I need to do a little bragging here.
I used to go to the Filmore, sit on the floor in front of the stage, take a few deeeeeeeep breaths and kick back to all those live people in 67 & 68.
The Haigh was STILL spelled Haight rather than 'hate".
Although I will be C & S on May 1, one of the neat things about having been a druggie is still randomly being able to experience being in my 20's & 30's.lol
XJS and Me, you are too funny... The crazy thing is that I was not a druggy when I went to see Mountain. I was in high school and my boyfriend was a student at Bradley University, where the concert was held. Back in the day colleges had tons of concerts. I saw Ritchie Havens and Crosby, Stills and Nash there. Fleetwood Mac played in our local park... ah, the memories... back in the day when you could still afford concert tickets!
This is good ANY night---or day!
Mountain was my first concert. I got to meet Felix Papalardi who was like a god to me because he played a huge part on CREAM records. These are some fantastic choices!
What did we do without youtube? Sure saves me from purchasing more music then I can listen to at any one time.

Great choices. Hope you finally got to sleep.
