Come on in and make yourself comfy. Kick off your shoes. Coffee? Tea? Sit awhile and read… Express your thoughts. Any questions? Feel free to ask for I am a woman of a certain age and I do not fear my secrets. I welcome them for they have led me here, where I pour them out in written word. I'm also a Recovering Catholic, but I very much believe in a Higher Power. Those shoes you see in my banner, I own those shoes... Stuart Weitzman Fever in patent leather red! We used to get out alot more, me and my shoes. So I decided to add them to my blog because, hey, I'm not dead yet!! Don't Forget Me!!

Rate: 22 Flag

Hey, just a note to let all of you know I haven't forgotten you, I'm only missing in action.  My father ended up in the hospital after the mushrooming incident and it doesn't seem he is bouncing back to normal, whatever normal is.  Now, he has been diagnosed with skin cancer and is having surgery next week.  My ex mother-in-law went to the emergency room this week and is having a pacemaker put in tomorrow.  I have been fielding calls from my children and other sorted relatives, plus taking care of my father non-stop.  Not my month!  But, I am thankful I am still healthy and so are my children.  We never know what life is going to hand us, so best to be thankful for what we have while the going is good!

I miss you guys!!!

Dementia sucks! But you better not forget me! I'm still alive and kicking!
I hate it when life gets in the way of blogging. Take care of you and yours!
It must be so hard to address dementia in a parent. Don't forget to make time for vodka tonics, Wii, and sushi.
That's right: care of the caregiver! You are not forgotten at all, and you will not be forgotten!
Bless your heart, all your responsibilities and you didn't forget me! Thank you so much. I am sending special healing and calming thoughts your way. I hope you have some support system, it's so important. Good luck and godspeed.
sending good thoughts your way from here, too. Take care.
I haven't crossed paths with you too much but I hope for the
best for you. Kitchen dancing? What's that, (other than the
obvious.) Take care. Stay Strong.

Me & Brie are d'accord on this one.
Hang in there. I miss your posts and your comments.
We won't. We're here, aren't we? Get back when you can. I, too, have had weeks and weeks like that. Take care.
MAWB, we miss ya girl but you take care of yourself and best to your father and ex mother-in-law.
How can we forget YOU? Never!
BTW, I too took care of my dad who also had AD. Gotta be nice to you too sweetie. Take some time to just be now and then.
Hugs.
We don't forget, but we do find other people who are willing to come in and do some of the work. We really should get a schedule going so we can all get the time off we need. Kind of you to let us know and sorry you are having such a stressful month. Sending out love and healing vibes.......
Hang in there and remember to breathe. Sending you lots of love sprinkled with laughter and anything chocolate. Hurry back, we will be waiting.
Why is it these things always pile on at one time?!! Sending good thoughts to all your family, and anxiously awaiting your return :)
Sending my thoughts and best wishes your way. These things do seem to happen all at once. Take care of yourself. We readers aren't going anywhere and will rejoice when your next post pops up on our "favorites" list. Please don't add OS to you list of obligations. We understand. Been there.
Sounds like you've got your hands full! Best wishes to all concerned and come back when you can.
It does suck indeed M.A.W.B. It's a hard thing to watch and I'm glad that you're well and send positive thoughts and vibes got out to your father.
We won't forget you. Please take care of yourself. Your dad sounds wonderful. I don't know what to say. I've been there too. My mother. No words seem to be adequate. So I'll just say thanks for keeping in touch as much as you are able. We'll still be here.
Hoping for better days for you and the rest of your family. Hoping also that somehow you get to enjoy some morels. After all of this you deserve them!
Life do get all "lifey" sometimes, don't it.

Peace!
MAWB
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
MAWB-I lived in my mother's home, as her live-in companion and "caregiver" for 2 1/2 years and found, "The 36 Hour Day" by Nancy L. Mace, to be invaluable. Positive Karma floating your direction. I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. Take care of you, too.
Just caught up on a few of your posts. Good luck. Don't ask "What else can go wrong?" because if you do, something else goes wrong.

We miss you, too.
wow, we were just reading about you concerns with your father mushroom hunting, and not this. i'll keep a good thought for you.

i did notice we hadn't seen your around in a while. cap'n keeps a close eye on those that make the hotties list.
