Come on in and make yourself comfy. Kick off your shoes. Coffee? Tea? Sit awhile and read… Express your thoughts. Any questions? Feel free to ask for I am a woman of a certain age and I do not fear my secrets. I welcome them for they have led me here, where I pour them out in written word. I'm also a Recovering Catholic, but I very much believe in a Higher Power. Those shoes you see in my banner, I own those shoes... Stuart Weitzman Fever in patent leather red! We used to get out alot more, me and my shoes. So I decided to add them to my blog because, hey, I'm not dead yet!!

Congrats to Zach! Congrats to Mom! Now ... tell the story: When you were first holding him in your arms, did you or did you not say, "Behold! My little chemist!" {{{R}}} for gReat job!!!!
ahahaha Congratulations to you and Zachary! What does one do with a chemistry degree? Any darned thing one wants to! Best of luck to him in his master's program!
Thanks to all of you! I am still beaming! I'm sure I've told this story before on here, but where, I have no idea. But, he is my miracle child. He was born with a diaphragmatic hernia and had surgery when he was just two hours old. They had the helicopter ready to take him from Peoria to Chicago to put him on a heart/lung machine right after, but, thankfully, he pulled through with flying colors.
I spent hours, days, weeks in the neonatal unit with him. When they allowed me to bring him home, I was petrified still.
I had played classical music for my daughter when I was pregnant and changed it up, playing rock and roll for this child. There must be something to that because she played the violin for years and he now plays the guitar. Chemistry was the farthest thing from my mind.
Dave, he is staying at DePaul and getting his Master's in Chemistry. Then, hopefully the job market will open up and welcome him with open arms! That is my prayer!
Loved every part of this, from the traumatic baby image to the triumph of young adulthood. Zack is so clearly loved. I am happy for you all.....so happy!
