Feel free to ask for I am a woman of a certain age and I do not fear my secrets. I welcome them for they have led me here, where I pour them out in written word. I'm also a Recovering Catholic, but I very much believe in a Higher Power. Those shoes you see in my banner, I own those shoes... Stuart Weitzman Fever in patent leather red! We used to get out alot more, me and my shoes. So I decided to add them to my blog because, hey, I'm not dead yet!! They are supposed to get twenty foot waves at the lakefront. It's gonna get crazy!
OMG! Lake Shore Drive will be coated in ice. I'm so glad I don't live in Hyde Park anymore! My Mom is in Matteson, though, and I'm concerned. Good luck and stay as safe a possible.

My son is in Lincoln Park. He wants to go to the lake with a camera. I'm just gonna sit here and say Hail Mary's!!
Yikes! I'd better call my daughter. Take care~r
Someone is really trying to tell us something..
Seriously.

I just talked with one of my pasts suppliers who are at 81st & Princeton.
I asked if they're gonna have a beach party at the Oak St beach.lol
I'm in north central WI and used to live in the westburbs in the area of the Brookfielf zoo.
I will always love Chicago, even with the weather.
Have fun and, remember that Mother Nature has PMS=Pile More Snow.
We're all gonna die!
All we get is fifty mile an hour wind and ice. At least a blizzard would look cool. Right now in So Il it is 30 degrees and rain mixed with sleet. On the other hand, to get an idea of the sheer immensity of this storm, I am 300 miles south of Chicago and I am in it too.
Twenty foot waves? I suppose so... Snowing like crazy in KC and heading your way!
It is finally coming down here, too. I thought it would never show up, now I'm ready for it to end. Ok, Universe, we believe you now. Go away!
It's tough to find the words for this. There are facts: 60 mph winds, that pinprick pellet blizzard snow that slashes at your face. The weather forecast models all saying the same thing---yeah it really is that bad. The governor declaring the state a disaster area before it happened. The city is shut down.

There is history. . .I remember 99 and even 67.

The eerie silence as everything else stops. Just the wind and the snow.

We pride ourselves on handling this kind of thing.

The pride is now buried under a drift.

There is the eir
I was in high school during the great one of '67
Noah, me too!! I have photos somewhere of my car buried in snow.
You had a car??? I was lovesick and actually went out in the old man's Impala around the second or third night to drive by the house of a girl who had just dumped me ...
I think they call it "stalking" these days though several researchers claim it still falls within the range of normal adolescent behavior (studies have shown and all that).
LOL Oh, don't get too excited!! It was some old car my parents handed down, then in 1971, I bought a Vega. Huge mistake!
I'll miss Chicago.

:)

Friends in Chicago and area, be safe, be warm and when the waves hit, make sure you cry out something surfer dude like!!!!!
What a city! I lived there in the Jane Byrne snowstorm. When you couldn't find your car under the snowdrifts--could end up digging out a total stranger's car by mistake. Stay warm.
Thanks in part to a CTA bus that didn't quite make the Belmont Avenue exit off Lake Shore Drive, people were stuck in their cars for up to five hours this evening on the Drive. Long after the police shut the Drive down. Apparently no officials were around to get the traffic off the road.
Now I have seen everything.
