I have mentioned in recent blogs that my daughter was getting married. I am not ready to write about it. Maybe after I get used to cooking and cleaning for myself again I will figure out how I feel about all this. I had no idea how spoiled I could get after spending a week at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica.
There were several family and friends taking photos...these are a few from my brother John.
This was the setting...Nov. 14... Negril, Jamaica. It was an unbelieveable, more than perfect day.

Waiting to start the wedding processional to the beach. My niece, Damina, who had an operation for brain cancer in May, is at the far left holding my youngest grand daughter, Apraih. Damina is remarkable, though she claims not to be. In the middle is my amazing daughter in law, Liz, who made the bridal gown and while a wonderful and creative seamstress had never made a woman's dress before. The dress was beautiful (as you will see as you scroll down) She also made the adorable poofy dresses for all the little girls. She is holding her daughter, Elsie, (my next to youngest grand daughter), who appears to be biting her. And then the handsome young man is my son, Nathan, a splendid actor and playwrite. His "day job" is managing the bookstore at the Baha'i House of Worship in Chicago.

The flower girl, my oldest granddaughter, Olivia, who kept correcting anyone who called her a princess. "I am NOT a princess. I am a flower girl. Can't you see my basket of flowers?" She is also very brave. She stepped on a bee just before the wedding.

Malik and Bahiyyih getting married...after first meeting 12 years ago...another story for another time...but she is a writer, so perhaps that is her story to tell.

Damina, and her husband, Jason, are the witnesses. In Jamaica there are many papers to sign. This part took about 10 minutes, so....my husband, George, and my grandsons, Nasir and Kilam, drew "hearts" on the beach while the the wedding was becoming legal.
The beautiful family...the "just marrieds", and their three adored ones.
Then a few more because they are just so lovely.

Beautiful day.
Many more laughs than tears.
One last note...the rings were not ready in time to travel with us. They were to be over nighted. By the wedding day they had not arrived, so during the ceremony pictures of the rings were exchanged and "blessed". They still don't have them, so the jeweler has given them the "mock up" version while they try to route them back to the US.
In some native cultures the artists always make one mistake in their work because in this world nothing is perfect...only God.
So the rings, and maybe the bee sting, kept it a little shy of perfect. Which is just as it was supposed to be.

I've changed this various times throughout the day...hard to get my mind to focus back on work again...
The delay for the rings was in customs and they were supposed to arrive at the resort on the day we left, Wed. Malik has been informed they left the airport but as of yesterday haven't shown up at the resort yet.
