How lovely, Mimetalker. How beautiful to connect so many parts of your life through that color.
this was lovely and very well written
Much love to you today, this week.... and on and on.

Thank you for this.
Beautiful. So understated but in the end I felt I knew something essential about your mom, and love, and red. Thank you!
I love seeing "red" evolve through your eyes, from child to adult.
You picked the right colour for your Mom, as you said, without even knowing why.
Very cool remembrance.
:-)
This was beautiful, just absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing your mom and dad with us.
Thanks for sharing.. It's really valuable write up.. One can learn from your wealth of experience..
This is written so beautifully and lovingly.

I liked your mom more and more as I read this and felt a familiar connection to her and to you. I, too, love red but shy away from the spotlight and don't wear it much. A cardinal is my favorite bird and I often get cherry red on my toenails. And my husband's hair (or the hair he used to have) is auburn.

The heart on the red granite gravestone--I could barely breathe because of the emotion that filled me when I read that.
What a wonderful remembrance of your mother and father! I love how you associate colors to people. Very cool!
How lovely, yet so sad. I could tell you loved them very much. I think my Moms a green!

I cannot express, without getting ridiculously sentimental, how much it means to me for you to stop in and take the time to write your wonderful comments.

Thank you all.
And joyous holidays.
Wonderful - spare and evocative.

I wonder what it is with cardinals. My mother's mother loved them and had a feeder on a windowsill so she could watch them. My father's mother said if she ever came back, she'd come back as a cardinal - and a cardinal perched on her coffin at her burial service all during a duet my cousin and his wife (professional actors) sang.
What a great story for Christmas! Red is passion, like your mother's love, it seems. Lovely story. Rated
Another beautifully told memory!
This was truly lovely. What a rich image of both your parents in so few words. I loved this..."She told me I better hurry up with breakfast because lunch was in 5 minutes." It made me laugh, though is sad, too, in a way. Definitely rated.
Hawley-thanks for stopping by-there is definitely something about animal spirits-Cardinals and others sending messages,
ame i- hhmmmm...now that I think about it...my house is rustic red and lately I've been dyeing my hair auburn
moviegeekmj (real life bro who had some of his presents returned)-thanks for the nice comment-means a great deal coming from you,
rainee-yes, my mother was passionate about my father, no question...and vice versa
Polly-yes, the memories of my mother always bring tears and laughter.

Thank you all for stopping in and sharing your comments.
Blessings.
Lovely glimpse of your Mom and family. Thanks for sharing.
