Back in the "olden days" I tried my hand at black and white art photography. I had a lot of fun and actually produced a few photos that weren't too bad. The problem was that it was such a hassle trying to make photos without a darkroom. My solution was to set up everything in a bathroom, complete with the enlarger resting on the toilet seat, trays of chemicals in the bathtub, etc. It was a real hassle setting everything up and putting it all away.
Digital photography has changed all that, but for me the greatest innovation was cell phones that take photographs. Even a relatively mediocre cell phone camera can take some interesting photos.
The following are a few photos that I have taken with cell phone cameras. They are all unretouched -- just as they were right out of the camera:
