Cell Phone Photos: A Zen Snow Garden

Rate: 11 Flag

Here in Oregon I'm pretty much snowed in, just about immobilized.  But I was in a photo mode and decided to do some snow photos in the back yard.  I didn't want to go too far because the snow is almost two feet deep, with higher drifts in places.

The following photos are of part of my back yard, which in warmer times is a vegetable garden.  Even though it's just a vegetable garden and related items I wanted to capture a kind of Zen sand-and-stone garden feeling, which was how it appeared to me this afternoon.  All of the photos were taken with an iPhone camera.

This photo was taken from an upstairs window.  The window screen adds some interesting texture.

The bottom legs of a table on the back patio leading to the garden.  The patio is covered, but about a foot of snow has blown in.

Sorry for the interruption, but just trying to get this to show up in the activity queue.
These are very cool (no pun intended.) The last one reminds me of a snowman that's been buried. Stay warm. It looks like it's going to be awhile before that snow melts.
Your cell adds some interesting shadows.
Lovely. It's like a walk in the snow. Sorry about the snowbound part. Nothing down here.
Favorites, in order of preference:

A compost bin.
A snow-covered flower pot.
A snow drift.

Hope it's warm inside.
Beautiful photos. (and kudos also for your long, thoughtful arguments on other recent post topics).
These photos are pure art. Isn't amazing what an iPhone can do if put in a poet's hands? HIGHLY rated. And, glad I only have to see this on your post and not in real life. I'm too much of a warm weather girl.
The compost bin is also my favorite. The small space available on OS doesn't do any photo justice, and the compost bin is is really quite striking when viewed full size.

Also, all of the photos could benefit from a trip to Photoshop, which I never use on my cell phone photos. I just use the tools available in the Mac Preview application.
M, I love the flowerpot photos because of all the delicate textures. Once again, the group is lovely. Thanks.
Another series of beautiful images. Merry christmas.
Lovely photos. The compost bin is probably the most sexually explicit photo of snow I've ever seen. My personal favorite is the first snow drift.
