Notes on the photos:

Car Reflection - the white stuff in the photo is pollen from a nearby Scotch Pine tree.

Self Portrait - the easiest way to do a self portrait with an iPhone is to do the photo in front of a mirror.  The screen of the iPhone faces the mirror, so you can compose the photo in the mirror.

Helicopter - I had an early morning appointment at a hospital clinic, and as I was leaving a Life Flight helicopter was in the process of landing on the roof of the hospital.

A Friend, With Dramatic Background - here I'm playing around with a couple of iPhone applications.  I used Photogene to tint the photo of my friend, and Justapose to place his image on top of the background photo.

Old Floor - taken at the Powell's Bookstore in the Hawthorne district in Portland, Oregon.

Sushi - taken in a large store that also has a sushi restaurant.

Nice Day Outside - taken from the 11th floor conference room of an office building in northeast Portland.   I had a job interview that day.  I didn't get the job, but at least I got a photo with waiting for the interviewers to show up.

Basketball Hoop - taken at a park in Northwest Portland.

Office Depot - taken just after sunset.

Very nice. Who knew Office Depot could be poignant?
Mish, you really have a great eye when it comes to capturing the simplicity of everyday beauty that most take for granted. Thanks for sharing that and keep up the good work! Rated.
Once again, master of the iPhone cam. Beautiful stuff Mishima. It's not just enough to have the iPhone cam, you have to have the heart and soul to compose. You have it in spades. Thanks
Always enjoy your little onllne gallery exhibitions. Beautiful, evocative images.
My iPhone pics never come out like these. You have a gift.
Really nice. I particularly like the Nice Day Outside, an image that brought instant recognition and a flood of memories. There is a haunting quality to the friend photo that I quite admire, too.
What an eye. I also like Nice Day Outside, but I can't let Old Floor pass without mention--I like the colors.
You've given each pic a nice voice.

Basketball Hoop speaks the loudest - the light and shadow looks like something cosmic. The nebulous treeline, with the well defined hoop seemingly 'jumping' into the unknown. Loved it, man - thanks for the post!

peece,

nice shots, I especially like "Old Floor" and "Basketball Hoop", and the stratling color contrasts in "Office Depot"
make that "startling"

damn uneditable comments!
I need to buy one of those things.
I like the old floor pic and the car reflection. Also, the self portrait is decent and would make a good avatar if you get tired of your present one and are looking to swap. Then again, it lacks the "I'm cool" shades, though with a bit of Photoshop...
Love the basketball hoop shot. Like a dream.
Can't add a thing except came by and really dug these.
The first one, of course, is beautiful with the color but my favorites are self-portrait and basketball hoop. I get to see your deeply emotional eyes. The hoop is sad at the end of the day with no one else coming out to play.
Thanks to all for your kind comments. I enjoy taking photos, and am happy that others also enjoy the images.
From the symmetry of "Nice Day Outside" to the haunting "Basketball Hoop," your photos are, as always, stunning. You have such an eye!
These are simply amazing. I always end up with a photo of my own home screen. I am thoroughly impressed.
Portland summers are incredible! I'm envious.
Wow. You can do this with an iPhone? I'm almost sorry I settled for the Touch.

As for getting on the cover, I have no idea who makes those kinds of decisions or whether there's any cachet attached to such a thing. It IS how I discovered OS, however....
A new art form....develop an ap for it
It's especially cool how the iPhone distorts some moving stuff like the helicopter blades (they only LOOK curved). AvWeb has quite a few photos of props 'bent' by the iPhone. Cool stuff! Love your one of the old floor!
