I grew up in Washington, D.C., and overseas -- went to 10 schools in 12 years. After graduating from Princeton with a B.A. in psychology, I settled in Washington and got my first job as an editorial assistant at U.S. News and World Report. I've been some kind of editor ever since, eventually working for the Washington Post, U.S. News again, Microsoft's Sidewalk.com (now defunct) and Salon.com, with an interlude at a surprisingly politicized Peace Corps. I'm married with two almost grown-up children.
