Bio
First 19 years: Peoria, Illinois. During years since, I've lived alternately between Iowa and Illinois. Each relocation required that I set my wristwatch backward, or forward, 100 years, respectively. I am pleased to report that I have once more, returned to my home state, but reserve to option to relocate, if circumstances lead me elsewhere. I am an artist and poet by nature; a health care professional by necessity. My main claim to fame, for purposes of this forum, is that it is my great privilege and honor to be the female component of the bio-pair that co-created our singularly stellar muse, Verbal Remedy.

  If I could

but take this love

in all its’

momentary intensity

and lay it

to acid-free stock

each line

and curve

and shape

and perspective

and brilliant hue

and subtle shade

and complexity

of composition

fixed

never to fade

layers to be added

never subtracted

it would prove to be

the undisputed masterpiece

of all time…

Michelangelo

would rage jealous

And to us

that fact

would have

no consequence.

Preservation

of what we have

of what we are

in this fleeting

tandem moment

would manifest

its’ true worth.

To capture the feeling instead of just the image- this was lovely, thanks.
Imagine an audience 100,000 strong standing in applause.

Beautiful!
Sublime and fresh. Rated.
A perfect pairing! Your poetry is so evocative!
You never fail to move me...... xoxo
Lovely Mothership ...I think everyone has at least one masterpiece in their lives. It may not fit everyone's definition of art (my mother's greatest masterpiece was forming indelibly in my brother, sister and I, the breadth and depth of her LOVE for us).
A "fleeting, tandem moment" has more power over us than years of comfort.
Cocoa- Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comments

Stephen- How gracious

Qwl- Love is love, my girl

Zuma- Knowing your former distaste for poetry only amplifies your appreciation of my offerings

Buffy- As is your prose

MAWB- Glad your back, Peoria Sis!

Gary- Well said! Mothers are like that...yah, they are...

cartouche- You always grasp the fundamental truth..whadda' girl!
Geeze, MAWB- Glad YOU'RE back. Too much reading and commenting and just a tad too much wine to avoid elementary school grammatical errors ? Appears so. ;0)
Another beautiful piece of work, Mother.
