and lay it
to acid-free stock
each line
and curve
and shape
and perspective
and brilliant hue
and subtle shade
and complexity
of composition
fixed
never to fade
layers to be added
never subtracted
it would prove to be
the undisputed masterpiece
of all time…
Michelangelo
would rage jealous
And to us
that fact
would have
no consequence.
Preservation
of what we have
of what we are
in this fleeting
tandem moment
would manifest
