Clarence Thomas “forgot” that his wife works for The Heritage Society . . .
. . . while Antonin Scalia gives seminar to Tea Party.
How long must we put up with this crap?
Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Clarence Thomas, founder of the Tea Party group Liberty Central, and former top aide to Dick Armey, reportedly earned a salary of nearly $700,000 from conservative sink tank The Heritage Foundation between 2003 and 2007.
But Justice Clarence listed “spouse income” as “none” on financial disclosure forms for the last seven years and on Friday submitted “amended” disclosure forms for the last thirteen years.
Clarence, who couldn’t knock a pubic hair off of a can of Coca Cola without soliciting assistance, was apparently confused about whether his wife’s salary was income. So the $700K was ”…inadvertently omitted due to a misunderstanding of the filing instructions.”
I mean, after all, one can only ask so much from a Supreme Court Justice.
Meanwhile, the Honorable Antonin Scalia gives a seminar to Michelle Bachmann’s Tea Party Caucus (and three token Democrats) on Capitol Schill.
You must remember Scalia. He is the one who went duck hunting with Cheney and didn’t get shot in the face. They went hunting together two weeks after the Court had agreed to take up the issue of Cheney keeping the details of his “energy taskforce” meeting from the prying eyes of the Great Unwashed.
These are the same two yokels who accepted invitations, jointly and severally, one must suppose, to the Koch brothers’ little fundraising soirees over the years.
And so on, and so on, and so on.

I know that good people are doing good things everywhere, but stuff like this makes me feel hopeless about our democracy.
.
It matters.
Right, Pixie. The elite get together at their favorite watering holes and make decisions that do nothing but further enhance their wealth and power.
Remember how the Pigs in Orwell's "Animal Farm" amended their Seventh Commandment which read: “All animals are equal” to read “. . .but some animals are more equal than others.”
