Okay, just to start this blog off, I guess I'll be cliche and tell you why I am writing about my life. I am a 21 year old guy from Charlotte, NC. I come from a middle class, conservative family of 4 kids: 2 girls, 2 boys. I am the youngest (sorry, is this boring you :::yawn::: stay with me, it'll get good). At the moment I am a 3rd year college student at a prestigious University in southern Virginia. I am about to leave this weekend to start the new semester off!
I still haven't told you why I am writing this blog. Let me break it down. At the current moment I got to a therapist because I have GAD (general anxiety disorder). Why? Mom: almost positive she is addicted to gambling. My brother and sisters won't talk to me because they feel I have been favored by my parents. My dad is one of those guys who "doesn't know how to express his love for his family"...to put it lightly. I haven't spoken to my best friend in months because of her jealous boyfriend, and because she claims I emotionally "took advantage" of her (oh, did I mention that she, her boyfriend, and I go to the same University? Yea...potentially bad run ins and problems there. This school year is going to BE NUTS). At the same time, my high school sweetheart and I are currently trying to work things out between us...but her ex-boyfriend(s) are posing some dangerous roadblocks. Another friend of mine just dropped a bomb on me by letting me know that she was sexually assaulted AND that she has an eating disorder. OH, and there was a rumor started in my church that I am an alcoholic and a pot head (started by my best guy friend). I am a social pariah on Sunday mornings now....it's awkward. I do like my roommate though. He's awesome. STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS IS ENSUING. Anyways.....that is a brief synopsis of my life up to this date. There is way more, but I will get into specifics later on all subjects that you need to know about. I am telling you, this school year is going to be CRAZY. I am writing this blog for therapeutic reasons....and basically so I can VENT TO THE WORLD. So what can you expect from this blog: real daily stories of college life, whether it be funny, sad, dramatic, awkward, scary, or even just a random Saturday night post of emotion. But yea, stick with me. Tell your friends. The more people I have reading this, the better. Really, I need support. Tomorrow I will go into detail about my family. By the way, all names of people will be changed for their protection. What's my name? My name is J.A.
