White is the non-color of color. White is like me because I am the non to the person.
White covers the mistakes.
White covers the roads in winter.
White is the full moon.
White is the light that illuminates my mistakes.
White is also the light that forgives those mistakes.
White is the fog that creeps on little cat feet.
White is the silence that surrounds us when love is right.
White encompasses tolerance, and embraces truth. White eschews secrets, lies, and the irrationality of the ‘white lie’.
White is hope flickering in the window after a long journey. White is the lifting of darkness when the thought of light no longer holds sway.
White is hope.
White is.
White.

Beautiful, rated.
What kind of white car did you get? (BTW, white is the best color for a car-my last two were white.)

When I was young and twenty
I heard a wise one say,
'Give crowns and pounds and guineas
But no your heart away;
Give pearls away and riches
But keep your fancy free.
But I was young and twenty
I heard him say again,
'The heart out of the bosom
Was never given in vain;
'Tis paid with sighs aplenty
And sold for a endless rue.'
And I am two-and-twenty,
And oh, 'tis true. - A.E. Houseman.
Merry, merry.
Ain't this the truth....and Blackis the noise that surrounds us when love is NOT right (just to give a contrarian point of view LOL)
White is the absence of colour -- and represents purity (or stupidity). You my darling psyche are a deep, rich, turquoise with streaks of green and red and maybe a big pink planet -- like your avatar.
Despite all that -- I like your poem and I hope you and your family are having a great holiday.
nice job. Happy 2010.
I have been reading Langston Hughes, particularly re-reading his poen "Democracy". I have been struck by how being white offers an entitlement to being SEEN to which non-whites do not have the benefit. Being non-white is being the non to the person.
An oblique reference but I appreciate it being picked up and questioned.
I appreciate being read and your time in commenting. I feel blessed.
