After a snowfall last night, this is what I see outside. That's my daughter's place under that white roof.

View from the other side of the house.

White is nice. But I like colour.
South window, living room. Colour against snow.

West window, living room.

North window, living-room

Bathroom window

Upstairs, bedroom window - ready for installation of inside storm window

Storm window installed and decorations replaced

Beautiful photos Myriad.
And your windows are a captivating wonderland too! Beautiful!
Huh? Frank the handyman has nothin' to do with this. However, my previous handyman (now living in the Philippines - he ran away to live with a cam girl) did install some of the windows, replacing the leaky originals. I made my own inside storms (so much easier to deal with than traditional o/s storms), invaluable when I had the leaky windows, and still help as a barrier against the (not-here-yet-but-on-the-way) cold.) But Frank did build my wonderful garage - I'll include it in the goat post.
Thanks, bbd (yikes, appreciation of my photos from thee!) and Kate. Stacey? Is there a blog I should be looking at? Yeah, winter wonderland for the first snowfall or two...then it gets to be a drag.

jlsathre - it's sort of like a memory/promise of summer flowers.
Hi Fusun. We actually didn't get as much as predicted...how much did you get in Montreal? (And previous snowfall you went outside & got pix!)
Zanelle - it's all *stuff* - but pretty stuff. Makes me happy.
I'll take looking at your pics to satisfy my fleeting winter cravings. No snow down here in the Banana Belt yet ...
Lezlie
Scarlett - no snow yet? (While all those places south of us are ravaged by blizzards and all...there are a few places in Canada that aren't so bad.)
Kim - It's a good set-up, my daughter and I far enough away so as to live separately, but close enough to keep an eye on each other.
Rita - we don't have really a lot of snow (yet), but it's the heavy wet stuff . It was around the freezing point when it came down. Later we'll get heaps of the light dry stuff...
Blufeather - Snow looks good, at least to start with...esp. after all the brown of dead vegetation of the last couple months...
Julie - especially when it's overcast! Or even just white outside. I was inspired years ago by some pix of Scandinavian interiors. Spacious and uncluttered, unlike mine, but with vivid color.
Jonathan - if I can make someone jealous, I'm happy. (Pretend I didn't say that.)
Linnnn - yup. Not nearly as impressive in the summer against green.
(Green, green? I can hardly remember what that was like...)
Linda - damn, I was hoping to ship you some
Lezlie - it is a drag. I remember, I remember...what it was like to just stroll outside as-is. Now there is armoring, and once outside there is stumbling and sliding and slogging...
Stacey - yeah, that looked like nice heavy snow you-all got, hanging off the roof and all (loved the little fringe of icicles). Fortunately I don't have to dig out my lane to the county road - got a guy who plows it at a reasonable rate.
Keri - good & thanks.
Joan H. - kinda loopy pix - my windows aren't really on a slant. But appreciated, coming from the purveyor of wonderful photos.
