NEW CANADIAN QUARTER W. GLO-IN-DARK DINO

Rate: 12 Flag

Are we a first in radioactive, uh, glow-in-the-dark coinage?  No joke.

Um, not regular quarters.  Special *collectable* quarters that will cost $29.95 each.

The Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai, the first new species of dinosaur to be discovered in the Peace Country, will be featured on a brand-new, glow-in-the-dark 25 cent coin, the Royal Canadian Mint has just announced.

Cool. Hey, we live in a country that puts poetry and art on its paper currency, so why not dinosaurs on our twoonies! (Not that I'll be buying one for $30 bucks -- but grandparents will).

Maybe people will become more curious about our Hoodoos too.
Always have like the coins made available by the Royal Canadian Mint. It's creative, one has to say that much.
I've never understood international rates of exchange but won't be forking out $29.95 to get a $.25 piece.
okaaaay, then....probably not.
Only animals we put on our coins are bald eagles and bison... you guys are crazy!!
That...is kind of cool!
Copy cats! The concept of a 25 cent piece that costs $29.95 is TOTALLY American. R
Radioactive or not, that is way cool! I'm not a collector of anything, so I have no desire to actually own it myself, but I would love to see one.
What Gerald Anderson said. That sounds extremely Ameerkin to me.

What a cool concept. Wouldn't it be great is you were in a movie theater (or other dark place) and looked down and all the spare coins glowed? I'd pay a little more than 25 cents to see the look on some kid's face if that happened.
Canuks, I swear- but I want one!
