Did Anyone Look At The Job Description?

Rate: 1 Flag

As news of Herman Cain's  informational floundering flows over the wires like so much black walnut ice cream left to melt in the light of day, the point that caught me was his handlers' attempts to excuse his total lack of information.

"The video is being taken out of context," Cain spokesman JD Gordon said, according to MSNBC. "He was taking questions for about 30 to 40 minutes on four hours of sleep."

Apparently, no one in the Cain camp was made aware that the duties of the President of the United States are not limited to 9-5 or 40 hours.  This is the leader of the free world.  Think uber-first responder.

If he's not up to the demands of an early campaign, how can he hope to handle the actual position?

The American people, while many are now unemployed, are in the position of an employer in charge of human resources.  And the candidates we have seen throughout the debates, have not looked promising.

So that you don't assume that I'm ganging up merely on Cain, the same can be said of Perry and Bachmann as well.  Their lack of knowledge, which is absolutely necessary for the position, is staggering. From basic civics to foreign affairs, their lack of information and planning are obvious to anyone paying attention to the GOP debates.  Their preparation would make you think that this is a high school popularity contest and not an evaluation to find the most appropriate candidate to lead our country.

And no employer is going to take candidates who have already been asked to leave the company before, or have proven themselves to be willing to say whatever it takes to get liked.

The American people aren't looking for a figure-head who will just look good for photo ops, we want someone who knows the material, can handle the immense pressure without buckling and be the leader we need in these tough times.  And they are becoming increasingly aware through the debates that, if this is the GOP's first picks, they don't understand what the job entails and don't have applicants up for the challenge.
