Newt Gingrich: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

Rate: 0 Flag

I was all set to not do any political writing for the day but with gifts like this, it's selfish not to share.

Newt Gingrich woke up this morning and discovered that not only had he not made Santa's list, he hadn't made it on Virginia's list.  Apparently, he did not have the prerequisite 10,000 signatures even though he had had since May to get them.

So, what's his response?  To blame the system.  Taking no responsibility. Yeah, showing real leadership skills there, Newton.

His next step - his campaign manager in Virginia suggested that Virginia supporters should gear up for a write in campaign.  Which, of course, in Virginia, is illegal.  Newt lived in Virginia for over a decade and doesn't know the election procedures and neither does his Virginia Campaign managers. As they say in show business - no rehearsal at all.

But it get's even better - Newt's campaign manager goes on to campare not being on the Virginia ballot to Pearl Harbor.  Seriously, can not make this stuff up.

Newton, Newton, Newton, you used the wrong historical analogy.

Not Pearl Harbor, this is Custer's Last Stand - the story of an egomaniac who ticks off everyone right and left and then gets creamed when he boxes himself in a corner.

Newton Gingrich - the best gift a liberal political writer ever received, well, at least, since George W. Bush.  While before we had the Shrub, now we have the Fig.  The gift that keeps on giving.

there is some consolation in school-yard vituperation, but you are talking about the management of the lives of a nation of 300+ million souls.

that should scare you...
Somehow I suspect it's it's claimed to be vituperation, I doubt the level is school yard. ;)

I just attempt, in my own little way, to shine a light on the fact that if he can't organize or take responsibility in any way for his own campaign, he most certainly can't be taken seriously as a viable candidate.

That and I believe most heartily that comparing his campaign mismanagement to the deaths of over 2000+ members of the armed forces is obscene.

Hope you have a good Christmas, dear!
