Franklin Graham, feeling the need for attention, got on MSNBC and starting assessing who is, and who is not a Christian.
He stated that he could not say for certain that Barack Obama, who came to Christ as an adult, joined a church, was a loyal member of the same church for 21 years, worked to help the poor and is known to tithe more than the expected 10%, is really a Christian.
He could, however, state unequivocally that Newt Gingrich, the man who has changed denominations three times, cheated on two wives, refused to pay child support for his children until shamed into it, committed perjury while in Congress and was investigated for influence peddling by the FBI while Speaker of the House, and wants to cut safety nets to the poor and press children into janitorial duty, was definitely was a Christian ...because he had said he was.
Mitt Romney, nope, Franklin closed the door on Mitt stating that Mormonism isn't a form of Christianity. Mitt agrees with Franklin about Obama claiming that Barack is fighting against religion for not letting business employers demand that employees follow their faith as a requirement for getting wages and benefits. On the subject of Mormonism, Mitt states mournfully that, "He is someone who has understood very personally the significance of religious tolerance." (Mitt, did you come to that understanding of tolerance before or after you attempted to convert our dead relatives?)
But the winner of the Graham stamp of Christian purity apparently goes to Rick Santorum - "No doubt about it!" Graham said.
Which makes it interesting to know that Rick Santorum, according to his own words, doesn't believe that Protestants, people like Franklin Graham, are Christian.
Awkward.
Well, as a nice Jewish man once said, "You will know them by their works."
