Energy Policy Suggestions

Rate: 1 Flag

Eliminate all tax breaks given to oil companies and increase the taxes on their profits. Substantantially expand environmental and other regulations on oil and gas drilling in all U.S.-controlled areas (including, but not limited to, ANWR, offshore sites, and the Barnett and Marcellus Shales). Rein in oil company exploitation of workers in Nigeria and other countries.

Oh, gosh, that's more than one item, isn't it. Sorry. I just got carried away thinking of all the things that need to be done to counter the problems created by Shell and its colleagues in the energy business.

Which reminds me: Use those oil company tax dollars to fund serious alternative energy development.

Hey, Nancy, Like your post a great deal. SO agree with all you have written. Your last sentence is the subject of my newest post..Alternatives to Big Energy.
I notice that Shell has changed the subject to our personal energy use.
