they'd probably put my head in a guillotine

Plath and a Needle

Rate: 36 Flag

Plath in hand,

needle dangling from the vein.

The dull ache in my chest

shamed into silence

by a sweet, sharp sting.

(Just thought I'd pop in and say hello with something I jotted down on the back of a business card while donating blood this morning)

She's alive! Nice to see you.
wonderful and yes to your return [?]
MM stole my line...
just don't "do a Plath" (as in Sylvia)
I wondered - And how are You are doing.
We all sure experience dark abyss times.
Just so we rise above, and transcend sad.

I knew a poet who was a devoted Sylvia Plath reader. I have known folks who choose to end their brief Life prematurely. I always wish the 'sufferer' would decide to see the golden sun rise for another day tomorrow ...

Listening to a daily dose of media "news" and Ex-spurt bobblhead views is similar to`
`
baby sitting for wacky politico and rent a DVD ` Psycho. Watch news sparingly.

This era needs therapy.
Take a Friend for walks.
Pretend they are a child.
A child will hold a hand.
Welcome back! Yahoo!
You take care. Be well.
Come back more often!
None here bite too hard.
What a re-entry!
NATALIE!

Ok, giving blood. I was scared for a sec.. Good to see you!
excellent poem, natalie. nice to see you.
Great to see you Natalie. I'm in the middle of reading Keith Richards Autobiography, so naturally I went somewhere else with this poem in my mind,
Nicely penned. "Plath" is a great opening word in any verse. Well done.
I'm so happy to see you back!! You're back with panache!
Great to see you Nat. I thought you were talking about a whole different way of shooting up!
I was unsure about the meaning, until your note at the end. What a noble act - donating blood,(with Plath in hand!)
♥R
Thank goodness you added the parenthetical!
So good to see you, even bloodletting.
I'm semi-retired from OS because I usually can't get it to work these days, but for a Natalie post I'll make an exception. It's good of you to give blood, though my own instinct is to do the opposite. ;-)
YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!!!! ;)
It's good to see you, Natalie. I used to give blood but for me it was more about making money than altruism. Looking back on those days I wonder how the little bit of cash they paid for a pint was worth it, but apparently it was.
Amazing how much so few words can contain. Very pithy and Plathy.
Hi Natalie! hey great to see you.. good writing.
Loved it! Glad to see you!
Natalie, my dear sweet friend! I've missed you woman, where have you been?
And this short piece of poetry was so much of a tease of your beautiful soul.
Well, hello. Nice to hear from you.
A welcome blast from the past!
Thanks for the welcome and kind words. It's so nice to see you all - I've missed being here.
Sweet poem. I thought it was about drugs at first, but it all makes sense now that i know the context. Consider calling it, "On Blood Donation?"
I've been thinking about you!
And donating my poisoned plasma............
I would love to roll you in caramel pudding then see if I could find your bellybutton.
Hot caramel pudding!!!!!
*squeezes Nat to see if any more poetry pops out*
